It was 1986  my parents had just split up so my sweet 16 was in my basement, but I loved it just the same!

In the living room.  It pretty much was my present, on my actual birthday, my mother gave me a pair of left handed scissors & then over the summer as sort ofa belated gift, I was allowed redecorate my room-paint, new comfortrer & new curtains--nothing crazy.

i didnt have one.. i think a bunch of my friends and I went out. I was the oldest of 6!!! I am lucky I got my own bedroom!

I didn't have a party. My parents took me and 5 of my friends upstate to Pinegrove Dude Ranch for the weekend. We had soo much fun!!

In my backyard, bunch of friends and a bunch slept over and tried to hook up with my brothers friend who was a model. I love my mom, she tried to make it so special, ordered a cake, a hero, made trays of food. Had a great time.

I didnt have one. We were supposed to go to Disney, however, dad lost his job. I ended up getting a job instead, to help the family out.
I dont think I ever really wanted one either.
My sister had one, at a legion hall and it was a blast. My parents didnt want to give her one, however, I convinced them! LOL
We had a great time!

I didn't get my own bedroom until I was 17
let me clarify, I didnt have my own bedroom my whole life. It's when we moved to our house on LI (my dad remarried and we all moved in together) that I got my own room- I was about 13. Until I was 13, I shared my room.

We were just talking about this last night! I had 2 friends over (my bday is in the summer and I always lost out on the parties), we went to see Lost Boys (rated R so we told them we were all 17, I was 16 and my 2 friends were only 15) and then had a sleepover. Nothing big, nothing like $200,000!!

It is RIDICULOUS that people have these Sweet 16's at a BIG catering hall. I can only imagine where their weddings will be

Me neither, I didn't have one. I am one of 6 too, and never had my own bedroom until I got my own apartment when I was 22!!!
