Another year....(a vent)
With another year approaching and STILL no job I am ready to throw in the towel. I feel worse for those who had FT positions and have since been excessed but this just stinks. I've had back to back leave replacements in the same district but nothing permanent. I thought I was going to be one of the lucky few who LOVED my job and had an AWESOME schedule for a working mom but no such luck...
I just get very depressed this time of year with a new school year starting and I knew I could vent here. Thanks for listening.

I totally understand your frustration...I waited it out for only 2 years and got sick of it. We moved down south and I had a teaching position with no more than a friendly chat with the principal where I wanted to work. She asked me what grade I wanted, I told her, and I got it.
It's unbelievable what teachers in NY have to go through.

I was hired at the end of August TWICE. (The first time was for my first job as a LR, second time was for my second job, a probationary position in NYC). Friends of mine were hired in October, November... it's not over yet!!

I could write this verbatim....leaves yr after yr here too (are you el ed too?) - its so depressing and what is worse is when people ask if you've applied other places or other stupid questions? ugghhh!!!
