Anoy other Working Moms feel like a rookie when running errand with their DC's on the weekend?

After 14 months I still feel like a rookie when I run errands with DD. I feel like I suck at maneuvering the stroller, opening doors and juggling the diaper bag.....Chat Icon

Umm, yesterday I was a freakin disaster trying to get things done. Ryan took off his socks and I was trying to maneuver the stroller thru sale racks and sweating, then he got fed up so I had to use the stroller as my cart and for our coats while I lugged him around looking for socks in the aisles. And Ryan kept grabbing all the tags on the clothes and he ripped one off hurting his little hand. Thank god the couple behind us on line played with him or I would have had to abandon my items and get home. Then I tried to get out using the handicap access door which did not work.
Plus he spit up so he looked a mess and had no socks on - people probably thought I was an unfit mother.

Yes! ME! The other day I ran over a woman's shoe with my stroller while she was trying on shoes, I was mortified! And another day I was in a store and I was thinking to myself, "man this place reeks like vomit", fast forward 2 min when I realize my son had vomited silently all over himself.

Yes! But I 'm not going to blame myself... I sometimes think the displays in the stores are so close together that there is no way to get a stroller through!

Yes- I am so awkward. I feel like people look at me and think "her kid is old enough- she should have her act together".

I am not adept with juggling the diaper bag, folding the stroller, getting him in and out of the car seat, etc.

I try to run most of my errands and do my shopping during my lunch hours, or just running out on the weekends and leaving him with DH.

I was lucky in that I went back to work for 6 weeks and then had the summer off. Even still, I was such a spaz with the big stroller. The lightweight stroller made life much easier!

If I have both then it gets a little unnerving, especially if I need to go to multiple stores.

Same here - I try to get done what I can during my lunch break...it's sooo much easier!

Same here....I feel like a new mommy...It was different with my older son, I could handle so much more...I think it was because I was much younger and more energy..
