anterior placenta?

With the movement post early and the responses it got me thinking. i do feel my baby just not hard and all day mostly at night for a little then it stops..never have i been woken up. At my level II they said my placenta was fine. What is this anterior placenta and can it happen after my level II this late in pregnancy ? Maybe i am a bit of a hypochondriac but the post about it got me thinking. how can i rule this out. thanks.

It is when the placenta attaches to the front side of your stomach instead of the back so when the baby kicks you don't feel it as hard.
I had that and wish I felt the baby kick more.

Re: anterior placenta?

Definitely nothing to worry about if thats the case. Sorry I didnt clarify what it was - if it was my response to the movement thread that worried you. With my first pregnancy, I actually had no idea your placenta could lie anterior or posterior, my son always moved alot. With my daughter I was concerned over the lack of movement I felt and that what when I found out what it was. In fact, with this pregnancy, I have a posterior placenta and my OB told me it was totally possible that I felt movement at 14 weeks like I thought. The only issue with a placenta that is cause for concern is a low lying placenta (placenta previa) and your OB would have discussed this with you already if that was the case and it wouldnt be a factor in feeling movement.

I personally have never been woken out of a sound sleep with baby movement with any of my pregnancies.

Re: anterior placenta?

Thank you. I was talking to my sisters and they said they never were woken up either. So I do feel better. I have noticed that the aby moves when i get into bed then stops and in the morning when i get to work "baby" moves a lot while I am sitting at my desk. so I do feel it just not all day.
