When I was growing up we had something for one of our dogs, not sure what it was tho-we used it for thunderstorms and loud noises-usually it was too late by the time we gave it to him

i just asked our vet about this and there is one med that they have, but i was afraid of all the side effects, one being seizures. worse case scenerio she said to give them benadryl 25 mg tab, my pup is small so 12.5 mg one hour before.

My cat took them for a while for a behavioural peeing problem, they helped, she stopped the peeing then stopped the tablets, I think it was busparone (sp) they definately helped, but we did give them to her as a last resort.

My dog is the worst for thunder and fireworks she won't even go outside in the late afternoon anymore. Last year we tried an all natural calming type of liquid. We got it at pet wellness in plainview. I don't know how well it worked though.

For short-term (e.g. - animal scared of fireworks and it's 4th of July) or for longer-term use?
I know with horses the options are vastly different depending on which you want, and I'd imagine it's the same with small animals as well.

KC has always been a scaredy cat but now with the new kittens he is not adjusting. he is actually scared of them..
He is 10x the size!

Aww, poor kitty. Have you asked your vet for any suggestions? How long have the kittens been there? Even my parents' confident cat took almost 6 months to adjust to a new kitten, though I understand many adjust faster.

i was just going to say that!! And now they have RESCUE REMEDY FOR PETS Its a lifesaver!! LOVE that stuff! I get it at Wild By Nature.
