Ants!
Help! They are in my house and I can't get rid of them! They used to only come in my house when the ground was frozen or we had a ton of rain. But now I'm noticing they aren't leaving at all anymore! I had enough today and they are making me lose it! I was trying not to use pesticides and was using natural stuff but then we caved and bought 2 different kinds of those traps. Still didn't work. I have a dog 2 toddlers and I babysit my crawling nephew everyday so what can I do???!

What kind of ants? We had carpenter ants a few years ago and hired an exterminator. He used all natural, plant based stuff to get rid of them.

Ants can be super hard to get rid of. You have to find the food source you're supplying them with and their nest. So basically follow the line of them to see where they go. You can try spraying or leaving a pesticide. The trick is not to kill the ants b/c they bring the poison back to the colony and kill off the colony.
If you have a lot of them, I'd probably just get an exterminator.

Those traps work the best. But yet we still have major issues. It's maddening.

Ugh me too! They are all in my bathroom but I can't find where they are coming from. They are so scattered, sometimes in the sink, sometimes the shower wall, sometimes the other walls. I haven't set up traps yet. What do you use?

They are the small black ants. Who did you call?

Thanks. We are on a slab and they are in the kitchen. We follow them, but they go into the smallest holes to nowhere. Or at least we can't see where they go. I don't think it's possible to find their nest.
I'm thinking we are going to have to call someone ugh

That's basically my point. Their nest can be anywhere, but they're coming to look for food. I'd probably start by putting ant traps down near where you see them and see if that works first.

Re: Ants!
Terro liquid ant bait is the best! We had ants show up one morning and when we put down the baits, ants were all gone by the next morning. We put ours under our radiator.

Ants!
We have a contract with Suburban exterminating. They are actually coming tomorrow to put gel down. They squirt it in the cracks where you see the ants. The ants eat the gel and bring it back to the colony where it kills everything. The traps never really worked for us and we tried a bunch of different kinds.

The only thing we did was made sure the outside of the house was completely clear of all debris. Dh has been plugging holes all over the house since we moved in 5 years ago and somehow they stopped getting in.

Re: Ants!
We used Terro for years and they do work but not for long. They also work by attracting the ants to it. So your bringing more of them into your home. They always come back and you always need more Terro. I'd wake up to HUNDREDS of them crawling all over my kitchen counter. Once I had to put all my electronics on the deck and shake them out. They were everywhere. Finally gave in a got a contract with terminix. We had TONS of ants. When he went into my basement (it's unfinished) and pointed his light at the basement ceiling, along the edges of my foundation - it's like the walls were moving. I was disgusted. He came every other month and anytime I called in between. He just today, after a year of treatment, I'm being moved to quarterly. I'm hoping it never gets as bad as it was. It's the best money we ever spent. That is for sure.
We also didn't have any cave crickets since starting the service either.

Yikes. That definitely wasn't my experience. I suppose it matters how bad the infestation is (which makes sense). For me, and for a good friend of mine who I recommended use the terror traps, they've worked very well. We haven't needed to use it in my new house but in my previous house we'd use it once a year (every spring) and they'd be gone till the following year when we'd just use it again and it did the job. OP, hope you find the traps helpful!
