anxiety being passed onto DC...a question

you know how they say babies are super receptive and can pick up on your feelings of anxiety and what not? does that apply to mommies only or also daddies?

DH has a huge physical test tomorrow (he's in the military) and he's been stressing out to the MAX about it -- driving himself nuts worried about passing the run on time.

today DD was very clingy, very needy of my attention which sometimes happens, so i didn't think of it, but tonight right before he left (he has to spend the night on base) she became verrry clingy, didn't want to play by herself and right before her bedtime routine she just became a mess, crying, needing to be in my arms, didn't want to be let go one moment.

we did spend all day outside yesterday so it might be a bug or something that she picked up, but i'm wondering if the whole anxiety thing could be the culprit? your thoughts?

I certainly believe that our kids sense our anxieties. Good luck to your DH.

I believe that babies can pick up on all people's feelings including mommy, daddy, or who ever is around them. Think about it....if someone is holding your DC and you can see that the person isn't really comfortable...dosen't your DC start to get fussy? Mine does. So, I think that your DD was defiantely picking up on you DH's anxiety. She is nervous for her daddy! Chat Icon That's very sweet Chat Icon
