Any 2021 Travel Plans?
Is anyone planning a trip next year or re-scheduling a trip that was supposed to happen in 2020?
We had to obviously cancel a trip in April and as of now, there is a possibility we will go next April but the decision isn't definite yet.
Was wondering what everyone else is doing/planning?

Re: Any 2021 Travel Plans?
I have a trip I need to rebook with airline credits. We were supposed to go to the Keys in April. I'd go tomorrow to be honest but Florida is on the quarantine list and while I don't care since I'm stuck working from home, I am not keeping my DD home from school for a trip and THEN a 14 day quarantine. So I guess I'm waiting until Florida comes off the list to book that.
Our usual small trips we did this summer. Hopefully next year

We were going to take a cruise but pushed it off to 2022. I refuse to vacation with a mask on and I'm hoping that its back to normal by then.

Re: Any 2021 Travel Plans?
We will probably use our timeshare points hopefully drivable within the US. We used it in Virginia in July and felt it was safe as rates were low where we went.

We are hoping to reschedule our Hawaii trip in 2021 but we are not rebooking it yet. We always go Montauk in July, so we’ll probably book that again. Other than that, nothing else planned until we see what the world will be like.

Re: Any 2021 Travel Plans?
We have airline credits so will need to book something with a future date by Feb. no idea what to do.
Hoping we could do camping and ocean city Maryland again. But I’m scared to book anything or get my hopes up. Canceling our spring break trip was very stressful and we lost money (might lose the airline credits if we can’t use them) so this is a sore subject.

Any 2021 Travel Plans?
we're heading to Utah, and Colorado next summer. My son is in 4th grade and has a free National Parks pass until next september.... so we're gonna try to hit all 5 national parks in Utah, plus maybe the north rim of the grand canyon, and Mesa Verde in Colorado. we also have a trip to Gatlinburg, TN scheduled for spring break next year- that was supposed to be this year.... but, we may end up cancelling that, just because its not like a "must see!" place on our list, so we might use the time to go to somewhere we're more "Excited" about HAHAHA

same here! we're in NJ, and my boys have "Jersey Week" coming up in november- basically our fall break, when school is closed for 3 days that week. I'm dying to go to florida for a few days that week... BUT, i'm not keeping them home from school that long when they just started back. I'm gonna wait until last minute to see what states are still on the quarantine list that week and book something

We have to do something - we have a massive amount of timeshare points/weeks available that we don't want to lose. We also have airfare credits. Thinking maybe Hawaii around Christmas time 2021.

Re: Any 2021 Travel Plans?
I want to plan something since I have a credit with Alaska Air. I had found a great deal on a flight but ended up having to cancel it when both states were on the quarantine list. I don't want to book another trip, add to my credit just to have to cancel again. The airlines would have even more of my money..lol If they were offering refunds I'd book something. But I don't like the idea of building a credit with them.

I really feel like during this whole mess they should be giving refunds, not credits. I feel pressured to use my credit now and I'd love to, but anywhere I want to go is still on the quarantine list. But I guess the airlines are really financially suffering during this so that will never happen...

I agree 100% about the refunds. Im sure the airlines will be getting bailouts. Their customers need the money right now. My daughter, her husband and 4 kids were coming NYC so she could run the Marathon. $4k worth of airline tickets that are now credits.
I am really hoping this passes. New Bill requiring airlines to issue refunds

Re: Any 2021 Travel Plans?
I agree about the refunds. I wish it was cash and not credits. I'm so worried about the airlines going bust and my money being wasted on nothing.
We were supposed to go to Aruba this summer and Disney next summer. At this point, I don't know if we will be rescheduling either. The thought of being in an airport and airplane skeeve me out nowadays and I'm dreading traveling in a mask. Maybe I will reschedule Aruba but I don't want to walk around Disney in a mask and they just cancelled even more live entertainment and performers. The atmosphere and performances and fireworks were why I love going to Disney. My husband doesn't do rides, so it would be silly just to go on rides and a crowded pool.
Plus some of the other places I wanted to go still seem unsafe or we are not allowed to travel there.
UGH.... I JUST WANT TO GO AWAY. without worry of a deadly virus.

Our roundtrip Hawaiian airlines flights were cancelled (obviously we were not going) by the airline and they were offering credits but my DH complained and they gave us refunds instead. Also, our inter-island flights were not cancelled and they gave him a hard time with refunds for those too, but it worked out. It’s all the same airline, how could they expect us to keep the inter-island flights if we weren’t even able to get there??

Re: Any 2021 Travel Plans?
We have been planning to go to Disney next October, haven't booked yet since we are DVC members and we're planning to book outside of our home resort, but we're playing it by ear. Might push it until March 2022.
It's also DH's 40th birthday next September so we wanted to go to Jamaica in August, but again, we'll see.

Unfortunately I just looked and the deal is over. I vaguely remember it saying it expires December 2nd or 3rd. Keep an eye on their website and also subscribe to Travelzoo. That's how I actually heard of the deal. But it's directly through Icelandair. It was $1600 for 2 for 6 nights with a couple of tours and breakfast each day!
