Any advice on sleeping 2.5yr old come on in
I would appreciate any advice at this point trying to get my 2.5 yr old son to sleep threw the night. I'll give you a little background on him. HORRIBLE SLEEPER!! I wake him up about 7:30am everyday he either takes a nap between 12-1pm for about 2hrs or he takes a nap at 3:30 while I'm in the car picking my oldest up from school therefore he sleeps to almost 5pm (unable to wake him at that nap) then he doesn't go to bed until 10:30-11:30. Then wakes up between 1:30am or 3:30am and goes back to bed once I lay with him. CIO has worked in the past with him however he now shares a rm with his 10.5mo old brother so I can't let him cry it out now and even if I took my youngest out for a couple of days I have no way of keeping him in his rm long enough to cio. All I know is I'm going on a yr of this and I'm so beat So any advice please, please share. TIA

Don't wake him up in the morning. Let him sleep. Give him a nap after 5 hours from when he gets up and then bedtime should be between 8-9 at night.
This is what I do and my son sleeps through the night, every night.

Re: Any advice on sleeping 2.5yr old come on in
what does he get up for? is he asking for something?
My son would do that (exact same schedule) when he wanted a bottle of milk. Since weaning off the bottle he does not get up...we put a sippy cup with water in bed with him. Once in a while he asks for a refill. His room is very warm so he gets thirsty/

I have to wake him up because I have to drive my oldest to school. We live to close so he doen't get the bus. However on weekends I have tried to just let him sleep until he wakes but then he'll take a nap around 5pm and then is up until 1am

I think he just wants me to sleep with him, because when he wakes up he calls me then I come and lay down with him and he goes right back out. He doesn't even ask for a drink when he wakes. Also if I fell a sleep with him and didn't go back in my room he would sleep the whole night. Sometimes I wish he would just sleep in my bed with dh & I but he won't, he'll only sleep in his bed or the couch

Re: Any advice on sleeping 2.5yr old come on in
I'd definitely try to get him to bed earlier and try to get him to nap around 1pm or so.
I feel your pain...Nate still doesn't sleep through the night unless we are in our bed with him. Nate naps from 12:45-3 at daycare and we try to get him into bed by 8pm (usually 8:30 after we read the 3rd book).
