Any BTDT moms been induced with cervadil
Im scheduled to be induced tomorrow night using Cervadil. Im scared of ending up with a c section since it appears this little one doesnt want to come out.
Anyone have any experiences?

I wound up with a C. Sorry! Don't let that discourage you though. Everyone reacts to it differently.
Good Luck!!

Re: Any BTDT moms been induced with cervadil
You should definitely bring up your concerns with your OB - mine said induction increases your chance of a c-section by 40%, esp if they have to start the night before with cervadil, as opposed to the next morning just with pitocin. I know everyone's different, but this is my concern too. I'm hoping I've progressed enough on my own that they feel good about an induction working and cervadil doesn't mean it necessarily won't work, but it's a tough call and I'd also like to avoid a c-section.

Were you dilated at all prior to cervadil? My Dr only induces on Tues..so its either this week or next and he doesnt want to take the chance of being 10 days late and then having to induce.

I did. He said while your chances for a c do increase with inducing, they also increase the longer you wait and the bigger the baby gets....Arrgg why cant she just cooperate and come on her own!!

I've been worried about this too since I have less than a week or this will be my fate as well My OB told me that since I am already so progressed he thinks the induction would go perfect (I am 3cm and 70% effaced as of a few days ago). I know one person that had cervadil and had a v-birth and she was already 1cm and 50% effaced then, another person that had no dilation at all, was induced and ended up with a C-section.

Ugh, that's true too. I really hate this and will be having this same conversation tomorrow to try to see which the doctor thinks is more likely for me. At this point, it's only been a few days but I really don't want to go longer than a week esp since my is already measuring big and I'm pretty petite, but we'll see what the OB says. I don't think my practice has only certain days for inductions though so that may help. 10 days would make me nervous too. How's your measuring so far?
to both of our stubborn 's!

I was induced at 41 weeks and never progressed past 3 cm.

I had cervadil. Had DD vaginally, even though I had zero dilation & effacement whent he induction started.

Re: Any BTDT moms been induced with cervadil
I went through 36 hours (3 doses) of Cervadil and then 6 (or was it 8 ) hours of Pitocin and never made it past 1.5-2 cm's. I would up with a section 48 hours after I was admitted for my induction. ( I went in 8 days early due to some issues I was having)

Re: Any BTDT moms been induced with cervadil
Just so you know... cytotex (sp?) is another option. It doesn't have as many negative reactions as Cervadil does. I asked my OB about it - and he said that he prefers this drug over Cervadil.
Just a thought.

Re: Any BTDT moms been induced with cervadil
I was induced with Cervadil 5 days past my DD i was only 1cm dilated. 12 hours later they gave me pitocin and remained at 6 cm dilated for almost 12 more hours...my baby did NOT want to come out....and I did NOT want a c-section! I was petrified of going into surgery....but 24 hours after being induced...my Dr. did not think my baby was EVER going to come out....so I had a C-section. I had a 9lbs 11 oz. baby. IT WAS NOT AS BAD AS I THOUGHT! After waiting for so long I was just glad to get her out....the recovery was great. If you get a c-section....make sure you walk walk walk as soon as you can. It helps so much with the recovery....and also Percosett was a godsend. Try not to stress out about it...whatever happens....you will have your DC in your hands and that's all that matters.
Good luck!!!
