Re: Any cricket sitings so far?

Yes, I have one under my radiator in my living room. It's so annoying and I don't know how to get rid of it. It is also driving my cats crazy.

Cricket today, in the downstairs bathroom hanging out in the tub.

DH made me get him - so I scooped him up and put him back outside.

Yes. Found one hanging out under our wood shelves in the basement. DH was working so I chased him around with the flyswatter myself. Chat Icon

Killed three in my garage last week. Bas*ards!! I heard another one, but, gave it a stern warning about coming into my house. I haven't heard it since. Maybe it saw what I did to its fellow crickets.Chat Icon

Re: Any cricket sightings so far?

I've seen some small ones, but they were dead - may be the spray I put out or the dehumidifier getting them. A couple of live ones too. We put out the sticky traps and that helps too. We seem to get a lot in the basement. Can't find out where those buggers are getting in. This year, they came earlier than last but there don't seem to be as many.

I'm going insane with this darn little bugger that likes to hang out in the wall and have a party where the breaker box is Chat Icon Chat Icon It's covered by decorative shutters and I bang on them in the middle of the night and then he stops. Then as soon as I get back into bed, he starts up again.Chat Icon Did I mention this is in my bedroom too Chat Icon

Re: Any cricket sightings so far?

We had one under the stove in the kitchen (they seem to like the echo under there Chat Icon ) so we put out four sticky traps.

We caught the offender, and three others that we never heard. I'm sure it's going to get worse though, the colder it gets.

Funny thing is, once they get stuck, they stop cricking (or whatever you call the noise they make Chat Icon) so the most we have to put up with is a few hours till they get themselves stuck.

Ugh - I recently moved and now I understand what you guys are talking about with the crickets. They keep popping up in our basement. I want to put out sticky traps - where are the best spots to put them in the basement?

Re: Any cricket sightings so far?

Where do you get sticky traps and when does Cricket season end? I have so many in my apartment and it's really becoming a problem.

Re: Any cricket sightings so far?

We found a nest of them in an unused barbeque that was built into the house. My dh killed every last one. I also found a bunch in the garage. I had my old teaching stuff filed in cardboard boxes and they were in there. Dh killed those suckers too.

Use the sticky traps sold in the supermarket for mice. I forget which ones we use but it's in a white and red box.

The season ends when you don't hear them outside anymore! Chat Icon Basically, when it gets too cold for them to survive outside. The nights have been fairly quiet since it got colder.

We've had no additional crickets since the first few.
