any mommas have los with GERD or bad reflux?

would you kindly share what were your lo's symptoms and how s/he's getting treated? ds seems to have really bad reflux - after every nursing session, he'd start wheezing, get congested and arch his back like the milk is coming up then spit out a good amount of milk. i wanted to get a sense of how other mommas dealt with this. it's so sad watching ds be so uncomfortable!

John had silent reflux..he didn't spit up.. which is why it took so long to diagnose him.

symtoms:

from the moment he drank the formula he was cry in pain and rake at his face. Arch his back and just scream...

ds#1- silent reflux, wet burps that smelled acidic, throw himself back and scream, scream in the middle of feedings, was definitely hungry but would push the bottle away and then want it the next minute, would wake up shortly after a feeding and when he wasn't medicated, he'd wake up every hour at night screaming. Once on zantac, he was back to being a happy baby.

ds#2- spits up a ton!!!! would throw himself back and scream in pain, cry during feedings, couldn't be laid flat, would choke from the reflux, scream after he burps, scream when he had hiccups, etc etc. Zantac did nothing for him, prevacid gave him extremely painful gas where he'd scream for hours and now he's on prilosec powdered packets.

DD used to do what I call Volcano vomitting.
She would drink a bottle and then it would all just come back up and POUR out of her mouth.
It was so bizzare.

She would also arch her back and fight the bottle.

We switched to an AR formula and when that didn't stop it completely she was put on Axid for a while.
