when i had my 2nd DC my DD was 2 exactly and i cannot imagine NOT getting one...but i am out and about all the time and always take them everywhere. we go on tons of walks, shopping etc..
i splurged and bought a bumbleride indie twin and LOVE it since i could use it from day one and i literally did!
also, i run a lot so i bought a baby jogger twinner on craigslist for 75 dollars. both were absolutely necessary items for me! i hate feeling trapped in the house especially in those first few weeks.

My boys are a little over 2 years apart. DS1 still likes sitting in the stroller. I walk a ton with them. There is no way that I could not have one. We got the city select and I'm very happy with it so far. It is great that you have the option of using it as a single or a double.

I have 2 under 2 (my kids are less than 13 months apart) so a double stroller was a MUST for me.
I absolutely HATE using it and now that my kids are almost 1 and 2, I much prefer using our new wagon. But still, we needed that double stroller. I will say though, whenever DH and I go out together with the kids, we usually bring 2 single strollers. Did I mention I hate our double stroller?? haha

contrary to my screen name i never did!
i wound up with a sit 'n stand and we used it maybe a handful of times. DD#1 was 2.5 when DD#2 was born. DD#2 was born late november so come spring DD#1 was about to turn 3 and done with a stroller...

Mine are only 13.5 months apart so we needed one. I didn't really love any and got the City Select. I don't love it with the attachment for the infant seat but I know it will be a lot better once I put the second regular seat it. It is going to be used primarily for walks (our nanny doesn't drive and we live in walking distance to everything). But it is heavy and a PITA to get in and out of the car. So I also am looking into getting a lightweight double umbrella stroller or something similar to leave in the cars for errands, etc.
ETA: We also take 2 single strollers when we can.
