Any Moms with 3 Car seats

I am expecting identical twins in April. I already have a 10 month old. So, I will have 2 in infant car seats and one in the next size up (not sure of the real name of the seat is but I refer to it as a Big Girl Car Seat ).

So for some bizzare reason and because I am hard headed I am trying to avoid a minivan. I even contemplated putting the older one on the luggage rack to avoid the social humiliation of one.... (Please note I am kidding. I am a funny one but no one really know this since I am new to the site).

Anyway, has anyone ever been in or is anyone currently in my situation? If so what car do you drive.

I am beginning to think a minivan is the only way to go. I think if I go that way, I may have to apply a bumper sticker that says honk if you think minivans are cool.

hey fellow identical twinmomma!! did you find out if your on team bluue or pink yet??? although i have no kids yet we will go from 0 car seats to 2 in our car...Rob has a honda accord and i currently have a ford explorer but we will be replacing it with a dodge nitro ASAP .....i hate to dissapoint you but with 3 i think a minivan(the dreaded word!) may be only option...especially since your oldest wont even be in a booster seat yet.....sorry!!! the nissan quest isnt SO bad...i know gas sucks but what about a suv maybe with a 3rd row

Any 3 row SUV would work.

My aunt was a 3 under 2 club! When she had her twins the oldest was not even a year and a half old yet. They had a mini-van for a while but she hated it! So they ended up with a SUV that had 3 rows.

My aunt and uncle had three in car seats across the 2nd row of their chevy tahoe...they have a third row that one of the older boys sits in now, but for a bit, they were all in the 2nd row

While I don't have 3 car seats, I can hear you on not wanting a minivan. I am not a minivan person. You should definitely look for a car/truck that has a 3rd row seat, preferably one that has a full 3rd row seat (as some are more like jumpseats, making it unsteady for carseats). I've been thinking about getting the GMC Acadia or Buick Enclave next.

I am not a minivan person either but we took the plunge. I have 2 in Britax carseats right now and a my third is due in 3 weeks. Our cars didn't work with 3 seats and we were concerned with the ease of putting one child in the third row of an SUV since they would all still be pretty little. If my 3yo could strap herself and get in out and out it might have made a difference. But we went for the minvan, my DH and girls LOVE it, I am warming up. It does make it a lot easier to access all the kids.

I didnt want a mommobile either but we got the toyota sienna Le and I absolutely love it !! It has a sporty look to it !!
Now if you are goin to have 3 I would think of the room your going to have in an SUV vs a mommobile !

As for SUV's did you look into the Mazda 9

i dont have 3 car seats but we have been car shopping for a bigger car (not minivan) and i also recommend the acadia or enclave its like a mini van without the look.

my sister bought the Nissan Armada and she will have 2 toddler seats and one infant but I also heard the Saturn Vue will fit three as well

I swore up and down I would NEVER get a minivan and now I don't know how i lived without one.

It is just soooooo much easier to get the kids in. My sister has a Pilot and my parents have a Lexus. As nice as their cars are in is a PITA to get the kids in!

When looking into SUV's my only suggestion is pay attention to how you get into the 3rd row. You can either put 2 kids in the 3rd row and have 1 free seat in the middle or you will have the 2 infants in the middle row and need to slide the seat forward. I have the armada and their is console inbetween the captain's chairs in the middle so if we have a 3rd it is going to be a pain getting in the back for DS or DS and DD will have to go back their.
