Re: Any NYC mommies? I have a little guy and was wondering what you do with LOs...
He gets to interact with other babies and I think that's important, at any age. It also gets him out of the apartment beyond going to the park.
I agree, I think it's good for them.
Check your libraby, churches, other community places.
They might have a free weekly class.
I went to a free one at the library by me on a saturday. The church & library both have free music classes for infants during the weekday.

I love the idea of a June Friday GTG. How about somewhere in the lower part of the park...low 60s...this way it's somewhat central and close to subways (N, R, 4, 5, 6)? Should we shoot for the first Friday, 6/4?
Can't wait to meet you all!

Room for 1 more? I'm on 1st in the low 90s. If you/your nanny are willing to travel up to it, Art Farm & Elite Gymnastics, both on 91st bet 1st & York have great programs for LOs.

I plan to enroll DS in Imagine Soup and Messy Art this fall at Moon Soup.
Art Farm in the City also has this really cute sounding class called Rock, Smocks & Animals. I am going to ask my boss if I can come in a little late for work so I can take DS. We'll see.

What age do you start these programs. I was only thinking of starting until DS could sit up on his own.

I don't think I can take the first Friday off in June as I'm taking the week off before Memorial Day.
I would love to join in on future meet ups. Weekends preferred as I am a working mom.

Do you take your DC or does a nanny?
I want to take DS so badly. I have to go to work though.
I'm still on the fence about Sat messy art class. I don't think I'd want every sat morning tied up.

The Rocks, Smocks & Animals class is really fun. My DS took it in the fall & is taking it now. He is doing the gentle separation class 2x/wk this coming fall.

So should we plan for a GTG on June 4th? Is that late enough for all the soon-to-be SAHMs or should we do it on the 11th?

I'm in Queens but could possibly make a midtown GTG; DS is 20 months so he might be the senior dude in the group
NYC ladies, it's a once in a while thing but Babylovesdisco was great; also I take a toddler & mommy yoga class here in queens 1xweek and it is FANASTIC, the toddlers learn so much I wish we could do it every day!!!!!
Check out local yoga classes, even he infant classes are GREAT and they do learn a LOT in that 1hr per week!!!!! Once they start walking they'll "graduate" to the toddler class, and you can totally TELL the kiddos who took the class as infants, they definitely have a leg up (pardon the pun ) on the toddlers who are "new" to the whole thing!!!
where do you do the toddler and mommy yoga?

Re: Any NYC mommies? I have a little guy and was wondering what you do with LOs...
I am a NYC mommy in Murray Hill. DS is 11 wks old. I am the first of my local friends to become a mom and would LOVE to make some mommy friends!
Unfortunately, I am going back to work on June 10th after being on leave for 3 months and DH and I are spending the prior week out east. Does anyone want to meet up for a walk next week? Or maybe a Saturday morning in June?

Re: Any NYC mommies? I have a little guy and was wondering what you do with LOs...
Hi Ladies, Last summer, I got a group of moms together for playdates & Moms' activities, but when I got pg w/ DS #2, it kind of fell apart. It was geared toward working moms, only in that the playdates were on the weekends-when most SAHMs I know are all playdate-ed out.
This is the email I sent to everyone a couple of weeks ago. If you want to be included, FM me your email address & I'll add you. Recipients are all BCC'd, so no one will see your email add. ------------------------------------------------------- Hi Ladies! So, after the Sex & the City in the Park thing, I sort of dropped the ball on this little group and for that I want to apologize. Turned out that I was pregnant and after a pregnancy fraught with annoying, but thankfully, minor complications, Daniel was born in late March. I am now fully recovered from my c-section and would love to try to get all of us Work Away From Home, Work At Home & I think there are also a few Stay At Home Moms together. I'm hoping for weekly playdates with the kiddies, monthly evenings out, just for us and other activities. I've spoke to a few of the ladies & it seems that for playdates at Central Park, at noon on Saturdays seems to work, come & go as you please. However, if there is a better day/time, please let me know....I will go with the majority. Since flipflop and sandal season is upon us, how would everyone feel about a Moms' Night of pedicures & cocktails at the Dashing Diva on 94th & Madison, say the week of the June 1st? Lastly, I have like 80lbs (g-d help me) to lose after 2 pregnancies & 2 giant babies. Is anyone interested in going on stroller walks? I'm thinking on the promenade/boardwalk/whatever it's called @ Carl Schurz Park a couple of evenings a week. Get back to me with any and all of your thoughts and ideas, as well as the emails of other moms you think might be interested. Take care!!! Elissa

I started another thread the other day about getting a playgroup together too. I unfortunately can't do this Friday or the next two but any other day this week or next I would love to join.

We never did get a date and time going. I can do any Friday this month other than the 25th. I think we were going back and forth btw the 4th and the 11th so I suggest we just set both and whoever can join one or both should come. Thoughts?

The Manhattan GTG never seems to get solidified. Want to try for another one?
