wow - my mom's cat has diabetes and she gives him two shots daily. he acts like he is STARVING when she feeds him (he gets fed in the morning and at night - special food, i forget the name). but he does act like he is DYING of starvation every time you feed him and he would eat just about anything if left out. i guess, now that i think of it, it got worse since he was diagnosed but he was always a food wh0re! maybe ask your vet if there's anything you can do to contain this out of control hunger and ask if it is normal. you shouldn't have to go in - just give a call and see what he/she says. Re: Any one here have a diabetic cat?????if so i have a question.......
My cat isn't diabetic, but I'm trying to think of it in comparison to human diabetes. I know that diabetics typically have to eat more often than the typical 3 meals per day. I'm surprised the vet hasn't said the same thing about the cat.
I don't know for sure, but my gut is telling me that smaller meals, given more times throughout the day, would probably help the problem. His blood sugar probably plummets, leaving him ravenous.
