Any other babies HATE being in the car in the dark?

DD is 8 months. She is perfectly fine in the car during daylight. Happy as a clam when awake, falls asleep if she wants.

But man, once the sun sets, she is a MANIAC in the car. Literally screams from the second we snap her carseat in until the second we get home....30 minute car rides, she screams THE.ENTIRE.WAY.

We've learned to almost tune it out. I mean, I feel badly for her, she gets so upset, but there's obviously nothing we can do for her.

It's just strange. She is rear-facing, older DD is forward-facing, so she can clearly see my older daughter, and we're traveling on well-lit roads so she can definitely see her big sister, know she's not alone, etc.

It's become a running joke when we leave people's houses at night....the hear us click the seat in and the wailing begins.

She's fine in the dark in our house...doesn't even have a nightlight in her room.

Strange, no?

mine used to do that, but after doing it a few times, they got used to it. now they might cry for 5 minutes or so, but then they fall asleep

my 9 month old does this but is usually ok if we keep the interior light on over her.

My DS has hated the car no matter what time of day :(
I think he just hates being confined but honestly since he was in the infant carrier he's hated the car and now in the big car seat he's good for local travels . He would scream like he was being murdered , i went and bought a portable dvd player it helped and buys me time in desperate situations, it's my only recommendation
