Any other New mom freaking out about what to wear for thanksgiving?

DD is 7wks old, and im starting to fit in some of my prepregnancy clothes. I bought a bunch of nice clothes from Ann Taylors Loft last year before pregnancy, but my hips are still a bit bigger than then. I have no clue what im going to wear on Thanksgiving, plus my shoes dont fit. I wear Childrens shoes and to get nice adult looking heels i have to order from Cinderella of Boston in California.

My sil just had a baby too, shes said shes wearing sweatpants. Shes having Thanksgiving at her house so she can do that, I have to go to my Aunts first then hers.

Ackkk I dont know what to do. No money and DD too young to go to mall and find something. Chat Icon

I've been sticking with leggings and sweater dresses/tunics and ballet flats. I actually wore something similar last Thanksgiving too so I think it will be fine.

First, give yourself a break, you aren't going to the Academy Awards. No one is expecting you to look like a supermodel.

Second, allow me to introduce you to Iron On Hem Tape -- For a few dollars you can hem 10 pairs of pants. Not ideal for something your are going to machine wash every week, but for occassional wear it sure is cheap, easy, and effective!

Don't make yourself crazy. I think I was only 4 weeks pp last Thanksgiving and I wore maternity clothes. They were the only thing that fit comfortably and I was not about to try and shove myself into something that barely fit.

DD will be 4 weeks old on Thanksgiving. I will be rocking the maternity jeans and a maternity top.

I'm still wearing my Old Navy maternity jeans with cute tunic tops or blazers.

Honestly, I know I won't be this size for long so I went to Rainbow & Mandee & got some cute tops & really cute ballerina flats. I didn't spend much at all.

ETA: I wouldn't take the baby shopping because it's going to be hard to try things on. Can DH or maybe your mom watch her for 2-3 hours for you?

JCP has great sales.
I bought 3 pairs of dress pants and 2 pairs of jeans and thats all im buying until i can fit into my goal size. I went back to work when DS was 11 weeks, he's now 15 weeks so those close dont fit as well, but i dont want to keep buying clothes. Im making due with what i got. THe pants i bought were from kohls during there buy one get one half off.

The problem i have isnt so much of clothes, as its the shoe part. I wear childrens shoes. before pregnancy my foot was a kids 2 and now i think im either 2 1/2 or 3... which doesnt even make it to a small size in womans. I think ill just deal with something in closet and like everyone says not to worry about it. Thing I hate is its my DD first holidays and i would like a picture of me and her, were i dont look like a mess.

That's what I'm wearing this year!!!! Tunic sweater cream, brown leggings and my tall brown boots!! And I haven't had a baby in 4 years!!!!! There are definitly ways of looking cute out and hiding your " little extra" weight at the same time!!! Hang in thereChat Icon
