Any real estate agents on here? Quick question
I have my grandparents' house up for sale and have it listed with an agency. It's been up for almost 2 months with no offers. The agent says that he does 2 - 3 showings per week and has had 2 open houses (2 more this weekend). Anyway, my cousin and her fiance are now interetsed in purchasing the house. My question is...if they wind up buying the house and even though I signed a six-month contract with the agent, he technically didn't sell the house. Any loop-holes with that? Does he still get the full comission?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS!!

if you are still under the terms of your contract then yes he is still entitled to his full commission if you didnt list these family members as exclusions to sale on your contract.

Also if your contract with the agency is to expire they still can get their commission if you sell the house yourself within a certain period of time. Read the fine print it should all be in the contract with them. Usually if you sell the house on your own and there is no terms in teh contract that allow you to sell it on your own without paying him/her a commission then you would have to pay them.
