Any recommendations on where/how to find a "mother's helper"?

I am looking for someone who can help out as needed on weekends and/or evenings. I live in Riverhead. Would need someone who drives. Thanks!!!

Check with your library. I know the library here offers a babysitters course and they keep a list of people who have passed the course on file. This weekend they are having a babysitters forum for babysitters looking for jobs and parents looking for babysitters to come and connect.

ETA: I just reread that you need someone who drives...not sure if this kind of thing would work.. Mothers helpers are traditionally younger girls since the mother would be there. I have a friend who has someone older who helps out but I'm not sure how she found her.

How about putting an ad at Suffolk CC or Dowling College- even Stony Brook. I bet there are lots of college girls who could do it.

Try SCCC in Riverhead or the churches. I live in Riverhead, too, but I can't really do evenings/weekends. If you need some weekday help, let me know!
