Any restaurants right off the LIE or Sunrise in the mid-Suffolk area?

I am having dinner with friends from Nassau and Suffolk. One of them suggested Painters in Bellport as a meeting place, but I hate that restaurant and want to suggest another one.

Any suggestions close to the LIE or Sunrise in mid-Suffolk (say exit 65 or so on the LIE, and comparable on Sunrise)?

That's a tough one- not much there...- I used to live in Manorville and it was either Riverhead or Patchogue for dinner!
In Patchogue, right on Sunrise is Howards Cafe.
On the LIE at exit 62 is Charlie Browns and Chilis...

Although- if you're not turned off of going a bit south of Sunrise, there area feww restaurants I can recommend in Patchogue Village- let me know.
(Howards is great, but it's burgers and beers)

Thanks, it's exactly around the Manorville area that we are looking! I really hate Painters, and I don't know why...Thanks for the suggestions!

I know there is a Ruby Tuesdays on 101.

Eventually there will be a Applebees right on William Floyd pkwy - just south of sunrise.

HAH!
OK then- we lived in Pine Hills Country Club. The clubhouse there is actually really not bad! the food is pretty good and inexpensive- it's easy to get to from LIE and Sunrise, and they have an outside area to eat that overlooks the golf course.
ETA- and the decor is new- pretty nice, very golf club housey.
Late at night it gets local-ly, but otherwise a nice place!

We lived there June 04-June 06. We had a one bedroom model that was right behind the first hole on the golf course. DH and I used to play ALL the time. We both miss that BIG TIME, I haven't see the club house since the remodle but I keep in touch with one of our neighbors and she told me about it. For all I know, we could have seen each other around. We used to have a garage on the first cul-de-sac off clubhouse drive over there.

Such a small world!

Beth there is a new Italian Restuarant in Center Moriches (not that new, about 2 years old) called La Volpe, it is across from the McDonalds.

Phil and I have been there a couple of times, the food and atmosphere is really good.

I would think it's pretty good, the same people who own La Volpe own Anton's (a fairly popular pizzaria) in the King Kullen shopping center further east up the road.

There is
Smokey Joe's off Exit 61 on the LIE

Charlie Browns and Chili's off Exit 62 on the LIE

Applebees off Exit 63 on the LIE

Apparently, the LIE is box restaurant land.

In Patchogue, you have

Mangia Mangia
Bobbi-que
Brickhouse Brewery
Howard's Pub

DH and I lived in Pine Hills, too. From 12/03 until 04/06. We were off of the 8th hole back on Pond Way. We absolutely loved it out there but the commute to and from work (Uniondale) got to be too much for me.

There really is not much to eat out there. The La Volpe is very good, but FYI it's CASH ONLY. They don't take credit or debit cards.

Trumpets in Eastport is good. And DH and I love the Coopridge Inn, but that is way off of the LIE.

Baby Moon and Johnny Chi's in Westhampton are off of Montauk Hwy.
I'm not sure how far east you are willing to go......
