Any space saving tips for those who live in an apt?
We currently live in a 1 br apt, and to get ready for baby have had to buy/register for the smallest, fold-up tub, "travel" sized swing, "travel" sized bassinet (for now), etc, etc.
If anyone else is in this situation, what are some space-saving tips you have to offer?
Thanks!

I'm in the same situation as you... 1 BR apartment.
since I'm in my first trimester, I'm still working out the logistics... BUT, I've found a couple items that seem to be golden:
very cute folding highchair
amazing way to store a stroller
I've found baby sites geared towards city-folk to be the best for compact baby living. The modern website ohdeedoh.com also has some occasional storage tips.
we're getting a cute modern crib with a drawer underneath, along with a changing table with drawers. That will be it for baby's nursery corner....
we're going to get a playpen and a bouncer, but no swing....

me! My main thing will be to not register for too much since we don't have a lot of space. we will get a swing and the pack and play, but no bouncer. and no activity centers/ walkers.

Re: Any space saving tips for those who live in an apt?
this is what I'm trying to do too
I'm registering for a crib, changing table, car seats, stroller, pack and play, highchair, and maybe a bouncer (becuase they're compact). nothing else.
I'm also going to try to minimize small clutter items. no baby need 800 toys.... a handful will suffice. I think excess should be stored away (like in a box under your bed) and periodically rotated.... that way you're not tripping over stuff.

Re: Any space saving tips for those who live in an apt?
We are in a 1 BR and REALLY hope to be in a house by the end of the summer!
i am BF, so wanted to try the co-sleeper (that goes at the side of the bed) so we are getting that. It goes up to 30lbs as a bassinet too. If we decide it's not for us, the it can always be used free-standing and later can be a playpen.
We also just got a swing.
We are not getting any other furniture, because we want to get a real set when we move into the house.
For now me and DH both gave up 1 drawer for her clothes.
Everything that she will not be using from 6mo+ is in our storage. Stuff we don't use regularly is in storage, so that the place is not completely cluttered.
So far it's not too bad and thank goodness we have a lot of storage space, but it will be nice when the baby has her own space and we have ours!

This website is very cool- we pretty much have all the gear we can fit, that is. I wish I came across is earlier! Thanks!

That's what we got, too.
I originally got the regular graco pnp, but when I saw the graco travel lite, we exchanged it for that for the same reason- space constraints!

Re: Any space saving tips for those who live in an apt?
We are definitly in the same boat. We wound up putting a shed up in my grandparents backyard to store any of out things that we don't need right now. We only got a PNP so that will be used for the changing table and bassinet and one of the smaller tubs. And a friend of mine had a very small dresser so we took that for blankets, towels, clothes, etc. Everything else that we got furniture wise will be stored at my moms house for the time being.

Throw out anything you have not worn, cooked in, touched, looked out or used in a year!! I have a fold up bath tub for my baby its good..the plastic ones that dont are so bulky and hard to store. I think Chicco makes a highchair that folds really good... BRU has it.

I have the peg perego high chair. While it is large when it is open, it does fol up flat when closed. If you are really tight on space though, just get a booster seat and don't get a high chair at all.
