Time... seriously, 2 months is very young to expect a baby to STTN. Some people get lucky and it happens, but most babies still need to eat 2-3x a night at that age.

Re: Any Suggestions on Getting Baby to Sleep thru the Night
Jeremy JUST started to STTN the week we started him in day care at a few days shy of 3 months and it is MAYBE 5 outof 7 days in the week that he can do it. Id agree that 2 months might be a bit too early. Abby was exactly the same.

Re: Any Suggestions on Getting Baby to Sleep thru the Night
My granddaughter has been STTN since she was 3 weeks old!! My daughter has been swaddling her and it seems to work like a charm. She puts her down after her last bottle around midnight and she sleeps till 8 or 8:30 every morning!! She consumes alot of formula throughout the day, so I guess it keeps her full during the night!

WAY too early for him to be sleeping through the night!
You best bet for getting him to sleep through the night is to wait at least another month or probably more!

ITA! DD is 5 months and still not STTN (although I wish she was!), but I agree that 2 months is early.

Re: Any Suggestions on Getting Baby to Sleep thru the Night
Way too much to ask of a 2 month old....Most still wake 2-3 times a night at that age...Try swaddling, but it doesn't work for every baby...She still needs too much to be STTN at such a young age...

I agree with the others. 2 months old is very young to expect them to STTN. Both boys didn't STTN until they were 6 months old (When I did CIO)
If you haven't tried it, I would get the Miracle Blanket

Ditto!! way too early. You can swaddle and use a noise machine.. but really.. he may just not be ready to do it.
DS didn't sttn until about 4 months and it was sporadic then.

Agree. DD is 6 months and still not doing it. A lot depends on the baby himself.

DS is 3 months and still gets up for a feeding (He sleeps from 9-4 and then goes back till 8)
We are going to start to swaddle tonight when we move him over to his crib

Re: Any Suggestions on Getting Baby to Sleep thru the Night
Two months is pretty early (though we were very lucky and DS was STTN by about 7-8 weeks.) The Swaddle Me seemed to be the trick for us. He had begun to sleep really well for 7 hours or so in his swing at night, but we were worried it would cause back problems (someone MIL knows told her that though I have found nothing to support it) so we started swaddling him again and it worked like a charm.
Good luck - but don't be too hard on yourself or worried - a lot of babies just are not ready to give up the nighttime feedings that early.

Re: Any Suggestions on Getting Baby to Sleep thru the Night
You'd be amazed what waiting a month can do. My DD started sleeping through the night at 3.5 months.
At 2 months she was still waking up 1-2 times to eat.
to help though, try feeding him enough during the day so he doesnt wake up as much looking for food.
Also, make sure he is warm enough, my DD cant sleep if she is cold and would wake up every hour!

Re: Any Suggestions on Getting Baby to Sleep thru the Night
What worked for us, and earlier than two months was during the day I made it DAYTIME!!! I had the radio and TV on at all times, all the lights on in the house, even the lamps and nightlights LOL everyone thought I was insane. Then at around 8PM it was nighttime. All lights off, even night lights, TV off a fan for white noise. I was very obnoxious and exaggerated about it. I wouldnt talk to her only shush her.
When she would wake up at night, I would wait five minutes -- 99% of the time she would go back to sleep. At one month she was already sleeping 7/8 hours a night and now at almost 5 months she is sleeping 11/12 hours.
I know most of it was luck, but doesnt hurt to try it!
