Any tips for cleaning puke in a car?

I'm not sure what happened, but DS puked all over his car seat, backseat, and the floor. Any cleaning tips? I'm not even sure what products to try Chat Icon

The best part is DH isn't home and I have 2 little ones who I can't leave alone in the house Chat Icon

ETA: My car has cloth seats...

As far as the car seat is concerned, take it apart and machine wash the cover (according to the directions) and use a bleach solution to wash all the plastic parts. I also washed all the straps and removable pieces that I could. As far as the car itself, can you or your hubby take it to be detailed tomorrow? Wipe it down as much as possible with a carpet cleaner now but you really should "wash" it so it won't smell.

You can do the car once the babies are asleep.

I agree about getting it detailed. DS puked all over my back seat when he was 10 months. I couldn't get the awful stink out, but the guys at the car wash did!

When my stepson threw up in my car, we tried everything and could not get the smell out. we finally went to petco and got the stuff that you spray on carpets to get the animal urine smell out and just saturated the seats with it! we used close to two bottles and it took some time for car to dry out, but when it did the smell was completely gone. Good luck, i know its gross to deal with!!

Thanks for the tips. I think I'm going to try and get the car detailed tomorrow.

DS threw up 9 more times since I brought him in the house. I've never seen him get a stomach bug that bad before! I'm hoping he doesn't pass it to my 3 1/2 month old. I'm also hoping he can hold down the pedialyte...otherwise it's off to LIJ Chat Icon

It's going to be a long night...
