Any tips on getting my daughter to talk?
Besides talking to them constantly and always pointing out all different things around them, what can you do to help enhance your childs speech.
Megan understands EVERYTHING! She hums to music, she goes and gets whatever I ask her too, she points to all of her body parts, she knows blue circle and green square. She babbles ALL THE TIME..from the moment she opens her eyes...but she just will not form words. Basic words like Mama, Dada, nite nite, hi, bye, and quack. But nothing else.
What can I do to get her to talk more? I talk to her so much throughout the day that I get tired of my own voice...anything else??

Wait for her to get a bit older?
That's our plan. DD is getting more words all the time. She'll start talking more when she's ready. I'm afraid that if I push too much, she'll rebel, and not want to talk (she's stubborn, so I could see her doing that! ).

She is talking. Her babbling and noises are her way of learning words. They will come, she's just a little young still.

They all talk at their own pace. She's still so young. My DS is almost 19 months and is definitely a slower talker than my older son (my poor DD, I can't even remember what and when she said stuff unless I pull out her baby book) My older son had 150words by now, DS #2 has about 20 or 25 and not even that clear.
Just keep talking to her and ask her to repeat. If she repeats (however clear) it, cheer like crazy and give her some high fives. My DS is a stinker. He's been saying turtle and when I really want him to say it, he blows a raspberry at me. Your DD sounds like she's doing great cognitively.

Re: Any tips on getting my daughter to talk?
See this is what I thought too..but my STUPID ped said thats not a form of communication..she does that because she cant form the words. But Ive always heard and read that the babbling comes right before real talking. I am not really worrying..I just want to do the right thing by her..and was thinking maybe I wasnt doing enough.
Thanks guys!

Your Ped is being an idiot! You should remind him/her that children don't grow and develop along with the chapers in parenting books.
