Re: Anybody else running the Caumsett 25k
I think I am. I havent registered yet but the weather is going to be nice and I was planing on running a long run any way. I am leaning towards going and using it more of like a organized training run.

Re: Anybody else running the Caumsett 25k
Really! I was looking for you too. I memorized your profile pic. You should have waved. Finished gun time of 2:17:21.
Saw Liza there before the race and she did well for her first distance over 13.1!
ETA: is it just me or are the results screwed up? my watch time was 2:15, gun time 2:17, CHIP TIME 2:19
how is that possible? And if you view the searchable results people with clock time 2:30 are before other of 2:05. HUH!

Re: Anybody else running the Caumsett 25k
It's all messed up! I finished in 2:27:32 and it says I finished in 2:07 or something meaning that I did the last 3.1 in 8 minutes or something, lol
I did wave to you the first time around but you are so concentrated and determined! I tried to wave on the third lapbecause you had slowed down to drink water but you had your head tilted back!
Overall it was okay! It was a bit borning though. I am not sure I'd do it again and although an ultra is my next goal I don't think I could run that loop 10 times.
What did you think?

Re: Anybody else running the Caumsett 25k
Oh and there was no start matt. So if you weren't on the first line of people at gun time, your results are automatically flawed.

yes, but usually "chip time" is faster than gun time... unless I started before the gun went off. Its backwards!

Re: Anybody else running the Caumsett 25k
But you started your watch when the gun went off, that's also when gun time starts, you didn't cross the start until after that and there was no matt. So the first time you crossed the "finish" your chip time was already slower than gun time. Chip times started at gun time and you had to wait to get to the start. KWIM?

started the watch when I crossed the start point. So my watch time is less than gun time, because the gun went off before I got to the start line. That part adds up.
But why would an additional 2 mins be added to gun time? That means the person would have started BEFORE the gun went off. Chip time should have been equal to watch time.... There is NO WAY chip time should ever be longer than gun time.
Maybe this will make it easier to understand. Gun goes off 9:30am I cross the start line and start my watch at 9:32 am But based on chip time, I started the race at 9:28am
ETA: YAY THE ONLINE RESULTS ARE NOW FIXED!! THE EXTRA 2 MINS IS REMOVED FROM MY FIRST 5K. I saw yours, says your 5th 5k was 8 mins You should go out for the olympics!

Re: Anybody else running the Caumsett 25k
Too bad Erica! Thats in your neck of the woods too right? Many people used it as a training run, its perfect timing for all the spring marathons.
Sorry I missed you Tracy! What else do you have coming up?
On another note, I was so impressed by those 50k runners. One guy lapped me twice!

Re: Anybody else running the Caumsett 25k
THe 50 K runners were insane! THey were so fast.
I am doing the NYC Half on March 18th. After that I don't have much planned. I am waiting to see if I get into NYC Marathon and I have an entry for the Marine Corp one if I don't get into NYC. I am looking into some. WHat others are you doing?

Re: Anybody else running the Caumsett 25k
I am sorry to chime in here but a question for you ladies who run all of the races. What's up with the fee for the NY marathon? Is it really over $200 to run it? My DH was going to register yesterday but that stopped him dead in his tracks. We thought maybe it was a mistake. With all of the runners that run NYC marathon, they must make a bundle with the fee so expensive.

No, I didn't get in :( Good luck! I can't be.lieve how close it is!!
Dawn: I think for NYRR members it's ~$150. That is the correct price. ~$200 for non-members. You are only initially charged $11. That you pay no matter what. They take the rest, if you are accepted.
I haven't been running any races...I just can't make the time. I am thinking about Huntington's St Patrick's 4 mile. I like that course.
Team in Training gave me a LI HM entry. I was thinking since I am not paying for that I should do the Suffolk County HM in March.
Otherwise it's San Diego Full 6/3 and I'm doing the Gold Coast Triathlon 6/17 and I will register for the summer series, but not sure I will do more than 4.
I love the Arrow Exterminator 5K, but they didn't have it last summer (which was OK since I was pregnant), maybe they will have it this summer.

It's actually up from last year....$216 for members and $255 for non-members. It's highway robbery!!! I don't think he's going to even try to get in....just ridiculously expensive.
