Re: Anybody else watch all of the specials on about JonBenet Ramsey?
PS....her mother always seemed insincere to me. I read something years ago about her being jealous of her daughter. That was from a psychologist who sounded convincing to me. I don't know if I am right but I still remember in 1994 in a different case, I just had to look at Susan Smith and I knew she was lying about how her 2 kids drowned.

I haven't watched the ID one yet. I will have to find it on demand in a bit after the kids are in bed. I am so fascinated by this case.

Re: Anybody else watch all of the specials on about JonBenet Ramsey?
If we assume Burke did it and parents covered it up by tying her up and writing the note. Ok I can see that. But why would they assault her sexually? The evidence keeps saying evidence of sexual assault which seems like a foreign object was used. If she was raped or a penis was inserted one would think more talk of "vaginal lacerations" and then more Dna evidence. So perplexed

this is what i was going to ask too, did they just ignore this or how did they explain it? Wasnt there unidentified DNA evidence that went along with the sexual assault?

Re: Anybody else watch all of the specials on about JonBenet Ramsey?
I just dont know, as a parent, even if one child killed the other, on accident, I would A) call the police, they arent going to send a small child to jail for life for hitting their sibling with obviously no intent to kill them and B) call the police just for any hope that someone could help her and C) I could NOT EVER take my dead childs body, tie it up, tape the mouth shut and stage a sexual assault on my poor baby's lifeless body, to desecrate it like that, I couldnt do it. That wouldve been my last act as their parent, the last chance to care for them..... There is NO WAY I could do that, I dont know that I buy that a parent could go to that extent.

The CBS special said it was such a tiny amount of DNA and it could have been transfer DNA. They didn't think there was any evidence of sexual assault.

I agree. It takes a sick person to do that to the body of their baby. Nothing could ever bring me to do that to one of my children, even if I thought it would protect another. It makes me sick just thinking about it.

While I agree generally speaking…we are not talking about average parents here. These are the same people that tampered with evidence, refused to cooperate or speak to the police or let really qualified investigators in. So they were clearly covering up, clearly did not the truth to come out. So yes, they are sick as well and therefore the regular rules don't apply.

Anybody else watch all of the specials on about JonBenet Ramsey?
How old was Burke when she was murdered? I keep thinking that a kid wouldn't be able to lie about something like this, or at least not convincingly. Wouldn't he slip up?
I also don't understand why the parents would come up with such a crazy cover up? They obviously knew the body was in the house, so why have the fake ransom note? Is there a theory for that? It was also a very strange note.
Additionally, I do not understand why no one called 911 if this was an accident. Even if I knew my child were (God fobid) dead, I would be calling 911 regardless. I would have try every last thing I could to save them. My mind would never jump to "Ok, now how to we cover this up?" Just too strange for me to imagine.
Then there's also the sexual abuse thing that someone else mentioned. I haven't heard any type of explanation on that one.

Regarding the sexual assault, the CBS special basically said the evidence was nil. Wood fibers were inside her but you needed a microscope to see them...(I really don't know what that means...Like how do wood fibers get up there) but the point they made was sexual assault would have much more evidence.
I just don't think we can compare to what a normal family would do.
I think this was a cover up for Burke who seams disturbed. Not to generalize but I get the impression they'd rather stage a kidnapping / murder than live through a trial of their son and have their family name dragged through the mud. But, what do I know? I don't know them. Just my perspective from watching these shows. Such a sad, sad story. That poor little girl.

I haven't seen any of the specials but this all sounds so absurd and disturbing! I remember the case when it happened but I haven't kept up on it.

I would think a "better" attempt at cover up would be to say that she fell, or the son threw something and accidentally hit her in the head. I doubt he would stand any sort of trial, he was only nine years old.

What about the John Andrew (Johns son from his first marriage)? How come he was never mentioned in these documentaries? If you google his name there are certainly a few things that come up.

I read on web sleuths that he had a solid alibi so he was never considered a real suspect.

I read official autopsy. Swelling and contusions were inside her vagina. Concluded chronic and acute vaginal trauma. Someone was molesting her before her murder too

Yes I think that there is way more too this. I think it was an outsider. Potentially someone that was close to the family and knew when they would be home. I think they were at the house hiding and waiting on Christmas day and did it after she got home. I think they were there for hours, writing the ransom note etc. It's a big house, they could easily go undetected until everyone was asleep. I didn't like how the CBS special was done at all.

OMG! Did not know this.
I feel like there is so much conflicting stories out there on the news. The CBS special made it sounds like there wasn't enough evidence to suggest sexual assault. This certainly does.
I guess one problem is, these shows are built for ratings not necessarily to tell the truth.....

Yeah I doubt it too. But I just felt like something strange was up with Burke (from his behavior and responses in early interviews during the investigation and interviews today) and they wanted to protect him and their name. But on the other hand, he was just a child and just because he was "odd" doesn't necessarily make him a murderer or even suggest an accident....

Her brother could've been sexually abusing her. It wouldn't be the first time I've heard of a sibling doing something like that.

forgive me because i'm not sure what channel i was watching, but the dr i saw on tv said that the vaginal swelling is NOT conclusive evidence of sexual abuse. it can be something as simple as wiping incorrectly.
now... i don't recall hearing the word "contusions" as to the vagina, just "swelling."
this entire thing is crazy.

I felt the same way... CBS really tried their best to point all fingers to the family. I felt like they were trying to fit a square into a circle.

Re: Anybody else watch all of the specials on about JonBenet Ramsey?
I didn't get to watch all the specials yet, but I read the autopsy report and a bunch of theories on web sleuths. I just can't wrap my head around them staging such a heinous crime scene if it was simply an accident and Burke did it. It does seem like that is probably what happened though.
Another poster linked to an article about it in another thread. It talks about the mothers reaction when they found her body. It seems a little rehearsed/practiced to me. IDK if those are the right words but I doubt I would be able to speak a coherent sentence if I saw my child's body like that... especially since there was a ransom note and I'd want to believe my child was still alive. It's like she knew and thought about what she was going to say when they found the body.
Patsy, threw herself over the child's body and cried: 'Jesus, you raised Lazarus from the dead, please raise my baby!'
