Anyone a school psychologist?
I have my masters in forensic psychology and was thinking about going back to school to become a school psychologist... TIA

Wow. I have my master's in forensic psych and have been contemplating for at least a year now whether to go back for school psych. The only thing that is really holding me back is how difficult it is to get a job. My friend has a psy.d in school psych (for about 2 years now) and was never able to get a school psych position. I don't really have much helpful info b/c I'm still deciding! But good luck!
What type of job do you have now?

Nothing to do with my field of course I am a mngr of an office.. I am having a difficult time finding a job I would love, I was going to look into federal jobs, but a lot of areas are on hire freeze.. And at the moment I am pregnant so I stopped the job search for the last year.... What do you do?

I have my MSEd in school psych, and am working toward my PsyD. I am going to be applying for jobs as a school psychologist for the fall. I hope I find something!

I have my PhD in clinical and school psychology. However, I avoid the schools because it doesn't interest me and instead do clinical work. Many of my friends are school psychologists at great districts (Rockville Centre, Mt. Sinai, JFK/Bellmore, Syosset, etc.). If you do it, you should definitely go for your doctorate and not just your masters.
