Love that place. I live 2 miles up the road from there... IT gets loud, but its so worth it!
We must live near each other.
I like Mim's but I doubt I will be able to drag DH there again after he had the smallest steak ever a couple of months ago there. I felt so bad he walked out hungry.
He needs to give Mims another chance. I've never had a steak there but I probably wouldn't have ordered one outside of a steakhouse anyway.
Talk him into it! I live close by too.

Re: Anyone been to Mim's in Syosset?
Well we went and the food was delicious. They only take reservations if you have a party of six or more, but they did take my name for call ahead seating. However, we got there about 6:30pm and there was no wait.
I had the Steak Nagamaki (filet mignon strips wrapped around asparagus with teriyaki sauce) and DH had the Baby Back Ribs with Sweet Potato Fries. For dessert, we had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding.
I would defintely go back if only because of the service. The table next to us was having trouble with the meatballs (they were coming out uncooked) and the manager was so nice about it. Plus he came to our table three or four times to see how everything was. Our waiter was great too.
Sorry for the long post, but 2 thumbs up for Mims.

LOL, yes, because they put cheese in the middle, it was keeping the meat from cooking fully in the middle. She sent it back twice and finally just decided to take it home. The manager gave them instructions for cooking them in a skillet to cook them more. He said maybe they will stop stuffing them with cheese. He also gave them free dessert for the whole table and sent them home with a smores kit.

Right, they have cheese in the middle..they are good though..too bad about them being undercooked. Sounds like they took care of them.
