Anyone care to show me the sneakers they bought for Kindergarten boy?
I want my son to pick out his own sneakers, but he doesn't like to shop around like I do. LOL He just picks something that catches his eye and then must have that pair and is closed minded about anything else regardless of how they fit or whether I think they are practical, reasonable, etc.
I would love to see what you bought for your DS. K, 1st grade, etc.
DS is only a size 11 (I think the first size in little kid... after toddler).
Thanks!

Re: Anyone care to show me the sneakers they bought for Kindergarten boy?
DS is going into Pre-K, but this is what I got him:
A pair of Converse grey sneakers, but have bungee instead of laces for easy on/off at school
He also has these, but they don't come larger than a 10
He also has a pair like this but Blue/Orange that I got a while back on Clearance, so they will be his playground shoes

Re: Anyone care to show me the sneakers they bought for Kindergarten boy?
As a phys ed teacher PLEASE send them in with velcro, unless they know how to tie, or tie it in a double knot so it doesnt come out. Also know that my kindergarteners use balance beams and run at least a 1/4 mile. REAL sneakers are best. I love converse for looks but they are terrible shoes for running etc. When my kids do the shuttle run test twice a year the kids who wear skater shoes/converse/slip ons often do worse bc they often become slippery. Dirt dries on the bottom and they become ice skates. I bought my Y year old sketchers. I love them as a teacher and a mom. They light up and theyre velcro. He loves them.

These from Target last year and they still fit with some room to spare. I also want to get a pair of sneakers like Nike or whatever.
And I think these still fit too. DinoSoles.

where did you get Skechers and was there a lot of selection?
I love Geox sneakers for my son. They are expensive but now that he has had a few pairs of other sneakers I see a huge difference. I have seen that some velcro sneakers do not stay closed. Geox do. He is between their toddler and regular boy sizes and Geox skips making the size he is in so I need another option until he grows more. I used to wear Skechers a lot so I would trust them to be pretty good for DS.
I may buy the Spider Man sneakers at Stride Rite.

Re: Anyone care to show me the sneakers they bought for Kindergarten boy?
Thank you everyone and thank you FDNYWife for the inside tips to Kindergarten Phys Ed! Very helpful!
I ended up ordering DS these Nikes from Zappos. I showed him pics of 4 different sneakers that I liked and let him pick. I knew he'd pick the ones with neon orange... they are so him. LOL His last pair were gray Nikes with neon yellow/green. I'm just worried that the orange won't go with a lot. Maybe they don't have to... the sneakers can be an accent accessory. LOL Anyway, I'm thinking I'll also get him another pair of Nike or Sketchers in a white/blue combo that he can wear when he's still wearing shorts and the black and orange ones definitely don't go or when they just don't match his outfit.
Thoughts on these black/orange Nikes?? Are they practical enough? I know the neon colors are very in right now and DS loves them, but practical enough for almost every day use?
Thanks! Image Attachment(s):

Those are some hot sneaks! As a matter of fact my 11 year old has similar ones but with green instead of orange. Just remember to tie those double knots and dont worry about the kids matching. They dont care and often times they dont anyway.

Re: Anyone care to show me the sneakers they bought for Kindergarten boy?
I got a pair of new balance sneakers (lace up ones- DS is flat footed so he needs this for gym/running), and a brown shoe from stride rite. DS wants a light up shoe too and I am between the sketchers and stride rite. I like the look of the sketchers better, but again b/c DS has feet issues, I think will prob get stride rite

Re: Anyone care to show me the sneakers they bought for Kindergarten boy?
I went to stride rite today because they have the buy one get one half off sale going on. DS is now a size 12 and they were sold out of so many shoes. I ended up getting him a pair of velcro sneakers and a pair of lace up dress shoes.

Re: Anyone care to show me the sneakers they bought for Kindergarten boy?
My son picked RED sneakers - his favorite color. Red Nike's. Won't match much but they are cute and go along with all the colorful sneakers that are "in" for little boys. He loves them.
His older brother picked black with a bright blue bottom but went between that and the neon yellow bottoms.
He got lace up shoes as he is determined to learn to tie his own shoes but I have been lax in the teaching. I will also buy some kind of velcro sneakers for him. I went to Famous footwear - buy one get one half price and then had a lot of Nike with the neon colors. I usually don't get them Nike sneakers as they run more narrow and both my boys need wide sizes but these were able to close with room.
I think these are the ones my 5 yr old picked out. and the other

My kids are in a Catholic school and wear a gym uniform, which includes certain types of sneakers they can and can't wear. They must wear an athletic type of sneaker with velcro or laces.
My son wears New Balance 553 sneakers. New Balance
My daughter has Champion C9 sneakers.
