We both agreed on a name...for now...that starts with 'B', and the middle name would start with a 'J'.

Am I being ridiculous???

I don't think I could do that. Those are my MIL's initials and even though no one calls her BJ, I can't help thinking about it.

However, no matter what you choose, kids always have a way of making something of it so it shouldn't matter.

DH's initals are BJ Brian Joseph...he was NEVER EVER made fun of, and no one ever called him BJ

omg! I was considering these initials too! We are thinking possibly of Brendan John for a boy. The more I think about it, the more I dont care about the initials because I feel like nobody that would make fun of it would ever really know his middle name (ie, random kids in school).

No, I wouldn't care. But, ha, DH's intials are BJS. Either BJ or BS - just doesn't work!!!

I went to high school with a kid named BJ. He was quite popular too. Don't think it's a big deal.

LOL my friend is pregnant and having this SAME dilemma.. she wants to name the baby Benjamin James.. and her husband hates the initials.

My Son's name is Brendan Joseph...

I was iffy at first..but no one will ever call him by his initials...so I dont think it will ever be an issue!

Personally, I would not do it.

My cousin wanted to name her kid Bobby Jr... and actually call him BJ. I prayed for her to have a girl. A girl it was. Her 2nd kid was also a girl!! whew! dodged that one!!
