Anyone do a Very Hungry Caterpillar party?

I'm thinking of an Eric Carle theme for Zach's first birthday. I've googled Very Hungry Caterpillar birthday but I really only get cake ideas.

Any clever ideas for food? Did anyone actually buy and display the story foods?

Toss your ideas to me! Thanks.

No, but I did make the really adorable caterpillar cake that Wilton shows...it's SUPER easy (just a bit time-consuming) and everyone was raving about it. It was so cute!

ETA: I do feel like someone on here did this theme, hopefully they'll see it. I did loan my cake pans out to someone to do the same cake, maybe it was her Chat Icon

Re: Anyone do a Very Hungry Caterpillar party?

I didn't but my DS used to have a VHCP themed room so I always take special notice when I see that stuff

I saw a VHCP themed "Birthday set" at Barnes and Noble yesterday actually. It looked like it had invitations, thank yous, and a banner or something.

Also I've seen VHCP finger puppets, those might be cute for favors. I saw them at Harbor View Books in Pt Jeff but I'm sure you could fine them elsewhere. DS has some and I remember them being REALLY cheap there when I bought them.

On ebay they sell VHCP fabrics. Maybe you could buy some and use it for tablecloths.

Maybe you could somehow print coloring placemats.

Maybe you could somehow make big "caterpillars" using balloons?

And of course a caterpillar cake would be adorable.

I've seen some VHCP stickers and stuff at AC Moore. I haven't been there lately so I don't know if they still have them.
