Anyone else child do this
My daughter just turned a month on Monday. Everynight around 8pm she goes into this screaming bloody murder almost losing breath fit for about 10 -15 mins and then she is so tired from it that is pretty much passes out and goes to sleep. I feel so bad we play her music rub her back change her diaper we both try to hold her nothing works. I did read in the books about colic. I also have her on Similac advance and when she went to the bathroom last night Poo it smelled like vinegar?? She does have baby acne which seems to be getting better but wondering now if she is having a formula issue? Sorry for going on here just really confused as a first time mom I do not want my daughter to be suffering. I hate to see her when she get into those fits.
TIA Denise

I don't think it's colic if it's only 15 minutes a night. She could be tired, what if you tried to put her down to sleep 15 minutes before her normal screaming fit? My DD only fusses or rather completely looses it when she's tired.

Thanks Michelle I will try that tonight. It does seems like she loves sleeping thru the night then we give her her morning bottle around 6 or 7 am she is up we change her and then an hour later she is back to sleep for another 2 hours or so but in the afternoon and dinner time she is wide awake so I think by 8pm she is shot. I will try to get her to sleep around dinner time

Welcome to Witching Hour. Very normal. My first DD was queen of the Witching Hour- except hers usually lasted about an hour- and started promptly at 7pm..

Re: Anyone else child do this
I think it may be she is overtired. Definitely try putting her to sleep before her crying jag. At this age I notice that after 1 1/2 hours of being awake Erin is shot and needs to sleep.

I definitely think it's witching hour. My DD will be 6 weeks tomorrow and she has a fit every night around 9pm for about half an hour--nothing we do can get her to stop. It's almost like clockwork... we plan our night around it. lol

Re: Anyone else child do this
oh you're lucky it's that early!! Declan has a "witching hour" at around 12am. when DH comes home, he gets a lil fussy then full on bloody murder screaming. DH has to drive him around for awhile to calm him down. We wonder if it's because when he gets home, the dogs go nuts and get excited that he senses it. maybe my DH is just crazy haha. Declan does have tummy issues though. we're about to switch his formula and hope that it gets better!

Brayden does the same thing...its his witching hour, everyday 7pm- the only way to prevent it, is for us to swaddle him and put him to sleep...

yes the witching hour,,,with my DD i could literally time it. 7pm DH would walk through the door and all hell would break loose! she would scream and cry for a good 3 hours. it was HORRIBLE!! i remember thinking oh my God, what is my life going to be from now on?! how could i have such a miserable child!? the great news is that this bad phase did not last. she did do it for almost 3.5 months but it did end! DD is 2 yrs old now and i smile when i think of how hard that was and how happy and amazing she is today! hang in there! it will get better!
edited to add-sorry! i didn't realize it's only for 15 minutes! that probably does just mean she's over-tired and not colic!
