anyone else get stuck in that storm yesterday in Farmingdale?
holy moly.. i was on the Northern state smack in the middle of that storm.. i really thought i was not going to make it through.. how scary!! 
you coudn't even see in front of you.. all the cars put their hazards on, pulled on the side of the road.. trees down!!
i hope everyone that was out made it home safe...

I live in West Bab-our backyard neighbors tree snapped in half. Luckily it went sideways and didn't hit their house. It looks like a tornado hit. We lost power for about 2.5 hrs dh said.
I however was outside playing softball in a tourny in Huntington WITH my dd...there were 70 of us stuck under canopys-babies screaming. It was so scary for them.
We survived though.

I was right alongside Republic Airport when it hit. I couldn't see 6" in front of the windshield at one point. We pulled over and let it pass. It was pretty wild, especially being next to the airport. A plane landing nearly flipped over and ran off the runway. It was landing right before the rain started, but the wind was picking up

We were on the LIE. I've never driven in anything like it. People just stopped in the middle of the expressway. i had both kids in the car and was petrified someone was gonna hit me.

we just returned from the town pool. 15 minutes later and we would have been in it.
The lights flickered but we didn't lose power.
Our next door neighbors did.

Pt. Washington got hit as well. I was at Homegoods and the lights were flickering.
I was just happy that Great Neck was ok b/c we got hit a few weeks ago.
Port had tons of flooding and downed trees & wires.

My father's unveiling was yesterday in Farmingdale. Thankfully it had JUST ended when the storms started and we took shelter in a restaurant.

We were in a store by the airport and as we were getting on line to pay DH told me to look outside. I couldn't believe what we were seeing. It was like something out of a movie. Scary stuff!

I'm in MD and it was just awful here. 11 hours with no power, no A/C and a cranky husband

I am out East and we were on the LIE and it was BAD. Not horrendous or trees uprooting, just really really heavy rain and wind.

We are on the numbered streets also! My block had power but the blocks to our north and south did not. It was back on at 3 am! I think a generator is a great idea!

Oh wow, I'm glad you had time to say and do what needed to be said and done without having to rush it or run away because of the rain. 
As for me, I was at the gym and the lights went out. They kicked us out of there so quickly! We practically had to persuade them to let us back in the locker rooms to get our stuff.

I live in Farmingdale, but at the time the storm hit I was on the LIE driving home from Riverhead  I could barely see the car in front of me.
