Anyone else hate talking on the phone?
I have a bunch of friends that love to chit chat on the phone, but I HATE talking on the phone. It doesn't matter who I'm talking to (DH, parents, friends, etc.). I'd rather talk to you in person or through e-mail, just not on the phone. Is anyone else like this or am I the only weird one?

I am the same way....even at work when I have to ask someone a question..I rather email than talk on the phone...I want a quick answer.

You're not alone.
I almost never answer my phone. Caller ID + voicemail is a beautiful thing. I really, truly hate talking on the phone.

I used to LOVE it when I was younger, but the past few years I've grown to hate it. I usually just don't pick up.

I hate it. Hate it, hate it, hate it. I used to be able to spend hours on the phone, but now it's unusual to spend more than 2 minutes on it! Maybe this developed because I'm now a receptionist and spend 8 hours a day answering phones.

hahah, I completely agree! But I hate the phone so much I never check my voicemail either! I check it once a month b/c I hate that voicemail icon on the screen, but if there was a way to just delete them, I would!

yes! I used to talk on the phone SO much when I was younger. Maybe I'm just getting anti-social as I get older

I hate it too. Generally if I'm at home and get stuck on the phone with someone I turn to DH and use my hand to signal a gun shooting me in the head!

I can't stand the people at work who reply to my email and then CALL ME to tell me they replied or to reiterate the answer they just sent via email.
Or the ones who don't even answer the email, they just see my email and call me right away.
Get the hint- I don't want to talk to you... just give me a quick answer!

I just posted about this the other day!!!! I have major phone anxiety. Unless it's someone I'm super-comfortable with, I dislike the phone. I would rather text or email. And it's weird becasue I have no social anxiety of any kind, love getting up in front of people to talk, etc. So strange.

me too.. I do admit that it's a bad thing and that i should pick the phone up more but unfortunately, that's just how it is!

My Mom is the only person I don't mind having long conversations on the phone with. I just hate talking on the phone... it's nothing personal.

The older I get the more I'm like this. I actually just had this convo with my friend today. When I get home from work talking on the phone is the last thing I want to do.

I hate talking on the phone. I would rather text - plus its easier when DD is around to just throw out a text when I have a minute and not have to respond until Im free. I talk on the phone a lot at work so maybe this has something to do with not wanting to be on it at home. I loved the phone as a teen and twenty something. As I hit thirties I began to dislike it and now avoid it when I can.

I'm not a phone person at all, if it's quick I'd rather just shoot someone a text. I prefer to talk to people face to face. I used to be able to spend hours on the phone, I guess I talked myself out!

I hate talking on the phone too (probably because I am more of a listener than a talker). I definitely prefer speaking to someone in person. Texts are my fave though - they are a great, quick way to get to the point.
