Anyone else have a "cheat day"?

Just wondering if anyone else has a day where they dont count points/calories at all.

I've been on WW for almost 3 years and I'm a lifetime member. I still consider Sundays a cheat day. After I weigh in I eat whatever I want for that one day and don't count my points (and I dont use my weekly allowance either). I think its the best thing because I get an entire day to induldge. I've still kept off 60 lbs even doing this!

ANyone else?

When you say entire day to indulge what exactly do you eat on Sundays? Just curious...

I don't even like 10,000 calories and binge or anything.

FOr example yesterday I had:

BReakfast: whole wheat bagel toasted with butter

During the football game (so I guess lunch): salsa and chips, pigs in a blanket, mac & potato salad

Also snacked on hersey kisses throughout the day!

Dinner: garlic bread, pizza and a fried oreo for dessert.

So basically I ate more than usual..and didn't make healthy choices. But I didn't overeat until I couldnt move either.

Definitely. I think if you don't, it ends up hurting you later because you will most likely eventually binge. Plus, I feel that in reality, you will not count points all your life and need to be able to feel you can have a treat once in awhile. Many diets allow you a cheat day.

I used to do it the day I weighed in BUT I saw that it was a slippery slope and I was never able to get back on track and things spiralled. This time around I said I can't really do that. Like Sunday I had pizza but I counted the points.

Re: Anyone else have a "cheat day"?

Yup. I kind of do it the whole weekend if I am not home. Like this weekend I was with my parents and they took us out to dinner Friday, Saturday AND Sunday night Chat Icon. DH is good, he orders healthy off the menu, but I, on the other hand, can't be so disciplined, so Friday night I got chicken parm, Saturday I had chicken and broccoli and Sunday I had chicken marsala. I also had a turkey wrap with cheese and honey mustard on Saturday and a whole wheat bagel with low-fat cream cheese on Sunday.

If I were home, I would have eaten better, but I like to indulge when I am out. So far it has worked for me. I should really move my weigh-in day to Friday or something though. Tuesday is my day now.

Re: Anyone else have a "cheat day"?

I need to try not to do this because as seen on my other post, I'm not losing weight as quickly as I'd like, but generally since we have so many flex points, or whatever they are calling them now, if i didn't really use any all week, on Sunday I don't count points. I'll eat maybe a bagel for breakfast. I might have a couple of cookies, and pasta for dinner w/o measuring it. it prob evens out a little since we only eat 2 meals on Sundays. I don't binge on cheeseburgers or anything, but I'll just eat like a "normal" person and not a dieter, iif that makes sense, though my previous conception of normal is part of what got me to when I was 228 lbs

Sundays! I don't measure, track or count.
I WI at 9AM and after my meeting get a "real" bagel LOL

I enjoy Sundays. I do NOT go crazy, but, it's nice to have one day where I don't really worry.

I joined WW in July. Down 37lbs, so, it works for me.Chat Icon

Re: Anyone else have a "cheat day"?

I'm having such a hard time with losing weight this time around (lost 30 lbs 7 years ago and kept it off, now trying to get the last 20 lbs off). Because of this, I'm not cheating. Maybe once I get going with my weight loss. But right now I've barely made progress. The cheats aren't worth it to me.

Re: Anyone else have a "cheat day"?

I'm not on WW I'm using a diet plan from my doctor...every two weeks I weigh in and right after I have my cheat day. I don't OD on things but I have one or two things that is not on the plan. I also drink my water (1 gallon a day) but combine a diet soda with it or something really yummy from Starbucks.

Re: Anyone else have a "cheat day"?

I did this for YEARS and kept off 40 pounds. But after i had my son, i realize it's not the way to go for me. On saturday i pretty much have whatever i want...and the scale hasn't budged in 5 months, lol. I lose 2 pounds during the week and when monday comes i'm back up those 2. JUST from saturday. And i'm not even going really crazy, but i guess enough so that it doesn't come off...I have drinks, usually a big lunch and then DH makes homemade pizza or we order in...then we have a good dessert...

I am going to miss my cheat saturdays...Chat Icon

Re: Anyone else have a "cheat day"?

I do it every week unless I know I have a big party week coming up. I weigh in on Tuesdays at noon. So I typically indulge more on lunch and I have whatever I want for dinner. I find it helpful for me to get over the cravings. And it reminds me that I could never go back to eating like that everyday. I feel sick on many Tuesday nights and I can't imagine feeling like that everyday. It's helped me lose over 70 pounds now and I've been doing this for over a year.

I really hate the term cheat. Makes it seem like I am doing something wrong.

I don't make the healthy choice every single time - most of the time yes, but sometimes I want french fries and sometimes I want cake, so I have it, enjoy it, and move on.

Re: Anyone else have a "cheat day"?

i "cheat" after my weigh in day (mondays) if i lost that week. i don't eat anything unhealthy, but i stop counting points for a few hours. i get a sandwich from the deli for lunch, maybe pizza or thai for dinner. it helps me celebrate and also keeps me sane. then tues-sun i do the plan.
