Anyone else have a DC who refuses to nap?
I really dont know what to do anymore. She sleeps from 8pm-8/9am but will not nap during the day if I put her down. I have tried everything. She will sometimes fall asleep playing but will wake up within 30 minutes. Any Advice??

No advice, just .
I know exactly what you mean. DS is a terrible napper. I have no idea what they do to him at day care, but when he's home he does not take good naps.

what is your routine before putting down? Do you just put in crib, or give bottle and rock then nap?

Is she tired during the day? Cranky like she NEEDs a nap but wont take it? How long have you let her cry when you put her down in an attempt to nap?

I used to give her a bottle and rock her but I stopped that when we did CIO for bedtime. Then I would just put her down when she would show signs of tiredness but as soon as I put her down she gets a second wind and will just sit in there and play until I take her out.

This is what finally worked for us- a sound machine(even the slightest sound would wake her up) her swing Letting her cry for a minute- she would usually go right out. Never longer than 30 sec to a minute though. Good luck- I couldn't get my DD to nap from 2 months until 5 months when I started doing these 3 things.

If she isn't crying, leave her in there! At the very least she will rest, even if she doesn't sleep!
And maybe she will fall asleep, sometimes it takes a while for DS to nap, but I'd leave him in there.

agree there are times when i put dd in crib for nap and starts playing with the aquarium.. since shes not cryign i just let her continue to play.. adventually she just passes out.
