Happy for them but who really cares.
I'm always shocked how the Brits don't mind how the Royal family lives so lavishly & spends so much tax money on a "lifestyle". I'd be damn ****** if I had a part in footin' the bill for the Bush, Clinton or Obama girls weddings!
Believe me, there are plenty of people who are totally anti-Royalists, plenty of them. But they don't solely live off of our tax money, Prince Charles heads a huge organic food business which brings him in a nice salary, and the Queen is a large sized land owner which also brings them in money. I think many people feel that the Royal Family are great Ambassadors for Britain and are therefore very proud of them. I just googled it and the monarchy only cost the individual taypayer under $1 each year, so really the cost isn't huge. Anywhoooo, I think one thing thats important to mention that Britain is a financial mess right now, the government is a shambles and all that stuff, but this Royal Wedding has given most people something to look forward to, a celebration of being British, a celebration of a couple who are genuinely in love (not set up like Williams parents were etc) and its just an exciting time to have parties in the streets and have a great time!
Thank you.. totally agree. It's nice to see a genuinely happy occasion during darker times.. I defy anyone to look at those two this morning and tell me they didn't look 100% in love and happy. It was beautiful!
I also heard this morning that the entire wedding was paid for by the Royal family, and the only thing the taxpayers are helping foot the bill for is the extra security

Re: Anyone else not interested in the Royal Wedding?
I have zero interest! I did like Princess Diana and remember watching that wedding as a kid. Once they ruined her that family became evil in my eyes. They ruined Diana...ruined her....I thought that in fairy tales the prince and princess lived happily ever after not the prince and the old hag...LOL
Can't stand the sight of prince Awhole and dutchess hag...

Thats I'm not drawn to watch it. Since Diana my view of the Royal family has changed-there's no more pedastal like feeling. And theres an instinct in me that Kate may end up hurt just like Diana did if you listen to some behind the scenes..not calling the girl for days while Will is off with his buddies etc. I just feel its not as PERFECT as portrayed. But thats my feelings. May not be based on anything but my feelings so dont know why it bothers anyone else.

Actually his mum cheated too. So I guess if what you're saying is true, that makes him like father, like mother, like son.

No argument from me. I get why Diana cheated.
I am not necessarily saying William has a mistress now but I just dont think he's as angelic as he's built up to be. Its just a vibe and maybe it will come to fruition or now. It is what it is. Life goes on. I wish them happiness and hope he doesnt follow the path of his father.

Plus, I think the royal family are probably really good for tourism so I bet they actually earn their keep so to speak...

I know plenty of people whose parents were total cheaters & they are completely loyal because of the pain it caused their family. If anything I'd think it's exactly why he'd stay loyal. He saw firsthand the devastation his mom experienced.
I'm not saying I have any insight into the inner workings of their relationship but I'm assuming you have just as much as I do.
It could go either way. Kate doesn't strike me as a shrinking violet the way Diana was when she first got married.

I hope so too. Maybe I am jaded. I work in an industry where public figures have what seem like perfect relationships but their assistants help cover their tracks. I just got turned off a bit when I read/watched journalists speak about their courtship and how he'd go off with his buddies and leave her waiting by the phone for days and shed see him in pictures out and about partying or whatever. No call Nada. She stood up for herself about his behavior but just the fact that she had to and live it out publicly tainted him.
I hope like I said it works and the temptation doesnt come.
