anyone else? Registry related
is anyone else trying to keep gender specific items to a bare minimum??
we were given a 85% guess that our baby is a girl as of 13 weeks... we will know better at 20. but i just love pink its my fav. color and all the little girly pink things are just so cute.. but this is our first baby and were hoping to have a few more. and i would hate to get all pink stuff and then have 3 more boys! so while looking to register im looking at all things that are neutral. anyone else doing the same?

Re: anyone else? Registry related
yes - we are not registering for ANYTHING sex related. (wow that sounds funny )
yes - we know we're having a girl - but we do plan to go for a 2nd child and having things that can be used for both is key....
i also happen to be a HUGE fan of yellow & green...LOVE me some froggies & duckies...

i do too jess!!! i was thinking alot about all those big ticket items like the car seat, stroller, high chair, swing, bouncers. DH laughs at me when i say these things but there is a theory to my maddness! i think my biggest problem is the stroller/ carseat... i cant find one i like thats neutral! if thats my biggest problem im very lucky!

Re: anyone else? Registry related
Here's the thing, if you're talking about clothes, I really wouldn't register for that many. People will buy clothes regardless and there's no way to tell what will still be on the racks by the time your shower is here. I didn't register for one single outfit and got a TON! If you're talking about general baby gear, i personally would just wait until you know for sure rather than doing the work twice, but that's just me.

i agree about the clothing thing.. i have no intentions putting outfits on there women just buy clothes becuse they are cute no need to tell them what to get.

Nah - I didn't register until I knew the sex, and everything on there is blue. My 'big' items though, stroller, carseats, that kind of thing are more neutral .....

All of the big items I plan on getting it as neutral as possible. That way we can use it for baby #2.

same here - only one that possibly leans one way is the stroller/carseat - but it's a baby blue - (only color the one we want comes in at the place we're registered)...we both like the color though....

Re: anyone else? Registry related
We wanted some of the larger items gender neutral so that when we have baby #2 we can reuse the items...
stroller, car seats, pack and play, excersaucer, bouncer, swing, crib/furniture (if we decide to use it for #2...it is convertible) are all for a DS or DD.
The bedding, tummy time mat, clothes, are for a girl...

Me too. We are and I know no matter what we have, the baby will have plenty of blue or pink in his or her life.
Plus, I'm due in July too (4th) and I have not even begun to register. Most likely waiting until at least after 20 weeks to start researching. Keep in mind new product arrivals for the new year are still coming out and things will be discontinued.

Re: anyone else? Registry related
we don't know what we're having yet, but the carseat/stroller/pack-n-play that i like is charcoal gray with lime green circles on it. I am not a pink person AT ALL, so God help us if this is a girl!!!

Re: anyone else? Registry related
I have never been a pink person. But with that said, I did go crazy at first registering for everything pink. Then I realized, we'd like another baby after this and if we had a boy he'd look pretty silly in a pink infant seat/pack n play, etc... so I went back and registered for gender neutral items for the big things.

We are really trying to keep it gender neutral since this is our first and hopefully, not our last.

Re: anyone else? Registry related
I would go gender nuetral - I ost likely will as well but not because of having another but because when i am done with my item I plan to give them away or sell them and gender nuetral will work best... PLUS if we are having a girl I dont LOVE pink - I would rather purple and they just dont make things in purple.. LOL... Boys are easy - It would be blue... LOL
BUT I am now 24-weeks and apparnetly my Lil one wants me on team .... TRUST ME ITS NOT MY CHOICE.... LOL

Re: anyone else? Registry related
dh and i generally like the gender neutral items better anyway (our favorite color is green) but we might do a few gender specific items - mainly clothing, towels, etc. more personal-type items.

Re: anyone else? Registry related
We dont know the sex yet but we did register. Al of the big things that can be reused for baby 2 we got gender neutral. We did not register for little things yet such as onsies, towels, binkies, etc...bc I want them to be sex related. Just so people dont have to constantly ask if its a boy or girl.

Re: anyone else? Registry related
We are not finding out the sex and therefore we are not putting any gender specific items on the registry. We didn't really put any clothes on our registry. Blankets and towels that we picked are all neutral in color.

Re: anyone else? Registry related
we're having a boy - so its pretty neutral anyways... but if we were having a girl first the bigger ticket items would remain gender neutral and id probably get some smaller items girl color- like a bouncer, blankets.... people will get you clothes regardless of what you pick out

Re: anyone else? Registry related
I'm going neutral too with all the big stuff. I also happen to love green so there's no worries with that!
I just can't decide if I'm gonna tell people if we're having a or ! Not sure if I want to be inundated with all the clothes in blue or pink!
