my dh thinks it's a bit much, but he didn't argue with me about it because he knew he'd lose....and i made him sit there and look at my favorite photographers and help me pick  ....in the end we booked Leslie Simmons and I can't wait

My DH thought the same thing... kept saying "You take great pictures, what a waste!". Well, I can't do what a professional with props and photoshop can do.
Once the photog (Shira Z) came to our home and saw what she was doing he started to turn the corner.... once she sent us a few teasers, he was completely reformed. Thought it was some of the best money we spent and was surprised it wasn't more expensive.

He doesn't necessarily think it's a waste - he loves whenever I get pictures taken of dc, but he'd only justify spending a certain amount...which may not be realistic.

No...he is all for it and cant wait to do it again.
I literally cherish those pictures so much.... they change SO FAST and I do not remember her like that at all. She was such a difficult newborn and I lived in a daze. If I didnt have those pictures, I truly would not remember that time.

DH thought it was the stupidest thing ever. . . until he saw the stuff that the photographer started doing and realized it was WAY BEYOND anythiing we would even think of doing! He probably sent the pictures to more people than I did!
He is already planning for our Christmas shoot!

we didn't do it. They really take amazing pics that I probably need many years worth of training to attempt. As a suprise dh bought me a Nikon D80 and it has become my little toy. I take tons of pics and still have yet to realize it's fully ability. I even want to take classes. I am not a pro, but I have gotten better at having "that eye".

DH doesn't want to book a photo shoot. He'd rather use the money and buy a new lens for a camera. I don't think he understands that it isn't the quality of our lens. We are crappy photographers!
tell him the session is a lot cheaper that going out and buying all the top quality gear the photographer would have

DH felt that way and it was worth every penny. He said he would never NOT get them done now.

No he is ok with that. He doesnt understand the pregnancy professional pictures. I am not sure I do either but they come out nice.
