Anyone ever been on a european cruise in november?
I know its going to be cold, but was it bearable? Was it nice? They are giving unbelievable deals, and our anniversary is the 18th...This is something we've always wanted to do.

Re: Anyone ever been on a european cruise in november?
DH and I went on a Medterranean cruise last November and had a great time!
We went to Croatia, Turkey, and Greece (Corfu and Santorini). We had decent weather. I never had to wear a jacket heavier than my North Face fleece and was fine on some days in just a sweater. It's wasn't "laying on the beach" weather, but that is not what we went to those countries to do. But it was very comfortable walking around and we even ate outside at a view outdoor cafes.
The only day with bad weather was the day we were "at sea". We just hung around and relaxed on the boat - it wasn't a big deal.
Another benefit about going in November is that the cities are not as crowded with tourists so it's much nicer to walk around and sight-see.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

In November we went on RC Legend of the Seas. It was a 13 night cruise from Rome to Portofino, an overnight in Livorno (Florence/Pisa), Messina Sicily, Split Croatia (but the weather didn't allow us to stop there), an overnight in Venice, Dubrovnik Croatia, Naples Capri and it ended in Barcelona. We went a few days early to Rome then stayed in Barcelona until we drove to Madrid. The cruise was great. It had a mostly older British crowd. Many people referred to us as the kids since we were one of 5 "younger" couples on the ship.
The above info was from a previous post of mine. The cruise left on the 18th. I needed a light jacket in Rome (it was rainy most days) and in Portofino, Messina, Naples and Venice. It was warm in Florence/Pisa, Croatia and even warmer in Barcelona. Madrid was a mix of both. On the chillier days I put gloves on instead of another layer so that was easier to carry and I wouldn't cook in the churches etc.
The trip was amazing and I say definitely go for it!

we didn't do a cruise, but we went to Italy for our honeymoon last November. I wore a sweater everyday - sometimes with a jacket over it - sometimes with a down vest over it - and a scarf. It was definitely a great temperature for sightseeing. We didn't get any rain at all.
We were there 11/25 - 12/3/07
