Anyone ever been to a "jeans" party? Update at bottom!
I'm going to one tonight. Apparently they sell designer jeans at amazing prices. I googled it and it said 99% of the time they are fakes. I don't know - at least it will be a fun new thing to do. Just wondering if anyone here has been and what their experiences have been?

Yep.. My firend is actually having one in a couple of weeks..
They have Seven jeans, Citizen's and others.. They usually cost $80 and it is cash...
I am sure you will come home with a pair... If they are fakes, they are really good ones!!!!
Happy shopping!!!

Re: Anyone ever been to a "jeans" party?
They are 100% fake -
They're 'good' fakes, and they're comfy - but they're fake

What if they have the tags on them? I had someone in my office that used to get them...who knew someone that would get them off the truck They were the real thing.

They're fakes. Tags and receipts mean nothing.

just went to one and got citizens and 7 for all mankind. They also had Juicy Sweatsuits, Ed Hardy T's and Sweatshirts. They look real to me but they could be fake.

Re: Anyone ever been to a "jeans" party?
I have been to one and had a lot of fun with my gf's. They were all fake and didn't fit the way the real designer ones fit on me so I didn't buy any. They were good fakes though that didn't fit well.

Can you say BOOTLEG... eekkk Sorry, I hate bootleg jeans. It's obvious when people wear "fake jeans", I rather see someone in a pair of cute no names, then some tattered sevens

Re: Anyone ever been to a "jeans" party?
My friend bought a pair at a party that had the Bloomingdales tag on them. I have no idea how the guy got them, but I wish I was invited!

Re: Anyone ever been to a "jeans" party?
you can buy a REAL pair for $80 or less at Century 21, Saks off 5th, Loehmanns etc
there are so many reasons that fakes are wrong- but they are illegal

Re: Anyone ever been to a "jeans" party?
PS My mom was a seamstress and sometimes she would bring tags home and have us assemble them for the clothes her factory was making ( they made clothes for stores like aeropostale before they closed all the factories and moved outside the US ).
It was easy THEN to "lose" a huge bag of tags for someone to put on knockoffs - it happened all the time! My mom protected those things with her life and made sure every one was accounted for Now, people probably just print them out themselves

They are fakes. Tags mean nothing. Take a look at different forums and read up on how to spot a fake.
What's the matter with bootlegs? I like them and wear them often- am I "out"?

Re: Anyone ever been to a "jeans" party?
Ladies...
omg....the jeans were sooooooooooo fake. It was just awful. My friend and I were giggling b/c they were so bad. They had fake bloomies tags on them too. I own a lot of real designer jeans, so I guess I know how to spot them b/c a lot of the girls at the party had no idea they were fakes. They were "shocked" when I told them and they couldn't understand how I knew the difference. Anyway - my friend and I went out to dinner afterwards, so the night wasn't a total bust.

Re: Anyone ever been to a "jeans" party? Update at bottom!
I personally wouldn't wear fakes, but I have a friend who's always saying that a good lookng girl with a great body can wear no-name or fake jeans or shoes, and she'll always look great whereas some people can spend infinite amounts of $$$ on the real deal, and it wn't make a difference. She's kinda right.... (and she never gets complaints or questions when she goes out in the outfits she puts together).
Another question, though--do people get angry when their "friend" invites them over to buy bootlegs?I'd be a bit annoyed at the premise of the "party" and the fact that my friend would profit off of my being duped into buying something I'd never wear....

How can you tell they are fake then?

How can you tell they are fake then? you can just tell - if you own the real thing the fakes are not similar enough - the stitching is wrong....it's all in the details
