Re: anyone ever been to Ogunquit Maine??
My Husband and I absolutely love southern Maine. We often stay in Ogunquit and spend time also exploring York. Actually we were just there last week. We took our DS there for his first vacation. I have pictures posted in my photo albums. In Ogunquit there is a beautiful beach and there are also all these little shops int he town. Then there is this magnificent walk way along the ocean called Marginal Way. It is paved so it is easy for children to walk. It has the most beautiful views. It is a decent walk. At then end of it there is a place called Perkins Cove that has all these restaurants on the water, little shops, and there is a little bridge you can walk over. I am not sure if you plan to go out at night, but there is somewhat of a night life in Ogunquit.
In York they have this cute lighthouse that you can go to. They also have a town with little shops. There is a road on York that goes right along the beach that is absolutely beautiful. They also have a little amusement park and Zoo in York. I have never been to it because it was closed last week and in the past when DH and I went to Maine we didn't have any kids.
During the summer I always see lots of kids around so I know they are kid friendly.
In Ogunquit we have stayed at Juniper Hill, the Milestone, and the Gorges Grant. They are pat of the same hotel group. The Milestone is the cheapest and the Gorges Grant is the most expensive. The closest to the beach is Juniper Hill. There is a walk way in the back of the hotel that you take to the beach. It is a little bit of a walk, but not that bad. There are hotels that are right along Marginal Way with beautiful views, but they are pricey. Even the 3 hotels I mentioned get a bit pricey in the summer.
Last June when I was pregnant we stayed at a play called Sleepytown motel in Wells which is very close to Ogunquit and York. Of course you have to drive to the beach. Honestly, the rooms were okay. I really can't remember how big the rooms were, but we were happy there. I think they also have cottages at Sleepytown.
Of course the seafood in Maine is wonderful. The lobster, clam chowder, and steamers are great.
I would highly recommend Ogunquit, and York. I can't wait to go back this summer. If you have any questions feel free to FM me.

I love Ogunquit! We stay at our friends house and the area is beautiful and so relaxing. There is so much to do there also. York is nice too - we have stayed at the York Harbor Inn and it's perfect!

DH and I went to Ogunquit for our honeymoon and we loved it! We stayed at the Cliff House, which is kind of pricey, but when we went into town for dinner, there were so many cute places to stay and tons of restaurants. It was very family friendly. We are thinking about going back this summer. You and your family will love it.
