Anyone ever buy a car through a dealer from another state?

Anyone ever buy a car through a dealer from another state?
I was told to look out for emission regulations in NY and make sure the car/truck will pass in NY.
Any info on this would be helpful.

I bought my car at a dealer in PA...they knew I was from NY and had everything set for NY regulations. I had no issues at all.

My parents have done this a few times in NJ and never had a problem. They actually just bought my 19yr old sister a car in NJ in May. (she is paying the car note but they had to cosign)

We bought my husband's car in NJ. We had no issues at all. Like the above poster said they knew and followed all NY regulations and did everything for us.
