Anyone ever feel pressured to hang out with DH's friend's wives/kids?
I just went to a children's party that DH's friend's wife hosted. DH couldn't go b/c of a fantasy football draft 
Anyway...I've tried and tried again, but these people just bore me to tears. All we have in common is our kids...and that isn't enough. We're polite to each other, but I think they feel the same way I do.
Are these just pseudo-friendships I'm going to have to deal with forever??? I think so....just venting here and wondering if anyone else is in my shoes?

Yes - DH has so many friends and while I think their wives are nice - and we hang out when we all get together - it's not like they are "My friends" - KWIM?
I do think we will need to deal with them forever! DH is very close to all of these guys and this is just how it is.
What I kind of don't like is that we see his friends and their wives MUCH MUCH more than we see mine. With my friends - we usually go out with just the girls so the men don't come. With his friends the wives all go to everything...and I end up lfeeling like the bad wife if I tell DH he can go alone!  They even go to card games (which I have NEVER gone to yet thank god!)

I actually like the wives of DH's friends. It took a while to warm up, but now we're pretty close. Our kids are the same age and we love to GTG and do things.

same here...i didnt like most of them at first and now we try to get together with the kids even when our DH arent around

DHs friends arent married....wives might be nice to hang out...I have been one of the guys since we started dating 12 years ago!

I actually like the wives of DH friends except for one. I cannot stand her and she is not welcomed in my house at no time and Dh knows this very well.

We are the first out of our friends (mine and his) to have a baby pretty much lol. So if his friends wives did have children I would probably jump at the chance to do gtg's.

All of DH's friends are older... so they have adult kids. They aren't a barrel of monkeys, but I enjoy spending time with them... its nice to hear that they are still close to their kids as adults.....

Hmmm....Can't say that I have that problem. I would say I drive about 95% of our social calendar. DH's friends are, for the most part, my friends husbands. Come to think of it, we really only have "our friends".

I like their wives and they are a lot like my friends. Maybe I would feel differently if we saw them more often but DH does not really expect to GTG with them often anyway. Everyone is just so busy.

I think it is vice versa in my relationship. We hang out mostly with my friends and their spouses. We rarely hang out with DH's friends. I make the plans, so it happens that I make plans with my friends.

I like DH's friend's wives. They are the sweetest bunch of people you'd ever find.
Some have surpassed the "DH's friend's wife title" & moved to "good friend".
