Anyone Ever Go To WDW In August?
I'm tempted to book free dining, but I've only been in the cooler months and I'm afraid we will die of heat! Just HOW bad is it at the end of August?

I did and I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER go that time of year again... I couldnt stand even being outside for more than 2 mins, then add horrendous lines on top of that... I REALLY would reconsider...

oh dear... i have to agree with the above poster.
DH and I went mid-september and THAT, to me, was unbearably hot (mid 90s the whole week).
I never even considered the summer....the heat it one thing. The crowds are another! (remember, this is one of the busiest times because everyone is off from school).
So, IMO, I'd go if you're going just to go....but just for free dining? I dunno if that's enough of a pull to get me there in August..... Sorry!
Go in October/November -- beautiful weather, fewer crowds.........

I have gone 3 times at that time of the year and I really didn't think it was that bad. The lines were shorter and it was less crowded because by that time many kids in the South are back to school and kids up here are getting ready to go back to school. It is not really peak time.
We went last August and then I went at that time when I was younger.

We went last September for the free dining. DON'T DO IT. IT WAS UNBEARABLY HOT!!!! Even at 8AM you were a pool of sweat.

We went in September I seriously thought we were going to melt..I have NEVER been so hot and I WILL NOT ever go again in the hot months  I was tempted again because of free dining, but it wasn't worth it, hot kids are CRANKY kids

I have to agree...I went once in the middle of August...it was hot and it was crowded with lots of cranky, unhappy children and adults.

I would not do it. We went in JUNE, not even as hot, and I seriously though i was going to die. We first bought those water fansm then resorted to dumping bottles of water over each other's heads, and some of the semi-indoor queues were awful.. I never want to go back in summer again.

We went the end of July into August and will never do that again. It is way too hot to enjoy anything, except the airconditioned attractions.

We go every year the last week of August and YES it is hot, but we love that time of year. The crowds are just starting to get smaller and it is the perfect way to finish off the summer before going back to school!

we did last summer and it was HOT! We did the parks in the morning and pool in the afternoon and parks again at night. I have to admit DDs were fanastic in the heat. If we need a breather we would move into a store for my a/c. this year we are going in June. hopefully it will be better with the heat.

I cannot imagine how hot it would be. We went in June a few years ago. DH got bloody noses from the heat then, august must be insane!

I did. It was the first time I saw the Disney characters really cranky. Very, very hot. Best to wait a month.

REALLY HOT!!!!!
I went mid October and the first few days were ok by the end of the week it was so hot we were dripping in sweat! We were there for the Not So Scary Halloween Party...my niece and DD were sweating in the costumes even at night.
Next time we go it is early December for the Very Merry Christmas!

Its hot but not unbearable and they have water fans spraying the crowds all day too.
I am going this august with my DD and I will be 7 months pg too, I cant wait!!!!!!

I have been to WDW in the summer and it's bearable with lots of drinks, a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock. Enjoy!
