anyone ever have their DD's American Doll's hair fixed/re-weaved?!?!
My DD has a Samantha doll (it was mine from about 20 years ago) which she plays with every day! She has 2 others - but Samantha is her favorite! But since she is so old her hair is falling out! she basically has half the hair she should - You can see the threading on the scalp if she puts her hair up!
Does anyone or even the American doll Store "fix" her hair when it is this bad - it is beyong styling - it needs a transplant!
Does anyone know if they do this and how much it costs?!?! She loves this doll and I am hoping the fix isnt as much as just buying a brand new doll!

I'm sure they can fix it at the store - she will need to go to the doll hospital:
Do you have a Doll Hospital? Yes—your girl can bring in her doll for everything from general cleaning to “major surgery.” She’ll visit our Doll Hospital, and once she’s feeling better (in about two weeks), we’ll send her home, safe and sound.

It's $44 for a new head. They don't do just hair unfortunately.
Here is the form http://store.americangirl.com/static/dollHospital/images/doll_hospital_usa.pdf

I know right?!?! I kinda feel bad lol - Like Samantha is going to know she is getting decapitated!! hahahaha
I just saw the order form and then called to confirm - They don't re-weave - just replace the head! EEK!! $44 But better than $100 for a new doll! Esp when Samantha is discontinued!

I gave them (I had Samantha and Molly) to her at 4 yrs old - but now at 5 and 6 yrs old she plays with it more and more regularly and LOVES dressing herself and the doll up in matching outfits ! She also takes Samantha with us where ever we go!

I'm surprised they even have a Samantha head still.
I saved my Samantha and Felicity dolls for my DDs - DD1 is only 2, but she is creeped out by it!

Many of the dolls have the same mold which means the same face. Just different hair and different skin tone. So they probably have a stock of heads, and paint them/add hair accordingly.
