Is there something you can put on the doll's hair that makes it soft and "normal" again?

OK, I am no American Girl Professional, but I have learned that a little fabric softener mixed with water in a spray bottle works wonders.

I was told to just use a little bit of water.. we bought Kaila an american girl doll in April in Georgia and thats what the saleswoman told me
