Anyone ever pass a kidney stone?
DH and I were in the ER on Friday night/Sat morning. he has a 4mm stone lodged in the uterer (sp?). he's on some heavy duty narcotics and feeling NO pain! lol
if you've had one (or more), how long does it take to pass it?
PS: for those of you who recommended Good Samaritan hospital 3 weeks ago (when he had his 1st episode), THANK YOU!!!!!! that is a WONDERFUL hospital!!! amazing Doctors and staff.

My friend's husband had one a few months ago. It took him three days to pass it, he also was on viciodin. He luckily hasn't had another episode.

My mom gets them all the time, Did you know hot tea cause's them?  my mom told me that.... whenever she use to drink it she alway's had a kidneystone. i forgot what actually cause's it, But i hope you dh feels better and passes it soon.

Thanks! there are a few different types of stones and different triggers for each one. tea has a lot of caffeine, which the Doctor told my DH to stay away from b/c it dehydrates the body. he actually told my DH to have a few beers because they flush out your system.
it was pretty weird yesterday going to S&S pharmacy to pick up narcotics and then buy beer

DH had one last year. It took about 4 days to pass. I made him drink a ton of water which helped.

My friend had one a few years ago, it took him 3-4 days to pass it will some massive drugs,he was ok. He said he had much more respect for his wife...he said he felt like he gave birth. Hope DH feels better soon. Nothing like a sick DH. GL to you too.

My DH gets them, it took him few days (maybe 3-4) to pass it once it finally ventured out of his kidney, he took vicodin and drank a lot of water. He goes to a good Urologist and now when he gets them he has them "blasted" They can only blast them whlst they are still in the kidney I think. There is a connection between stress & kidney stones. They are supposed to be excruciatingly painful You poor DH!

My dad had one too abt 3-4 days to pass, once he was on heavy drugs he felt great but one can pass than another it just depends on how big and how many there are

Uggh, I had one and it made my ureter infected and I ended up having a severe kidney infection and a 1 week hospital stay. I had to have a stent put it to open up the blockage....
I hope it passes soon! Not fun!
