Would it make a difference to anyone if it was a "fancy" restaurant or if it is like a TGIF's?

Re: Anyone ever send back their food at a restaurant?

I have to send food back occasionally because I don't eat meat and sometimes there is meat in my food.

I try to be nice about it because you are at their mercy. I saw Waiting and that woman was an uber b!tch-- which I think was the main reason why they did that disgusting stuff-- not just cause it was sent back. I mean-- if they f*ck up your food-- are you just supposed to eat it? I mean, within reason of course.

Honestly-- I think it's really rude and disgusting to do sh!t to people's food. I mean-- you work in a service industry-- I can understand if the person really deserves it, and they are over the top obnoxious and rude- which I would assume happens a lot, but under normal circumstances, it's uncalled for. You, as the customer, should be able to get what you are paying for-- little stupid things to send food back, yes, annoying. But if they really f*cked up the order-- why not ask for it again?

I also think that a lot of this stuff is more myth than reality-- from health codes alone- if anyone found out about a lot of the stuff-- then, the restaurant would be shut down so fast.

I try to be as nice as possible to our servers. I have sent food back if they messed up the order. I watched the moving "Waiting" and it made me think twice about going out to eat for some time.

I agree, doing crap to peoples food is horrible. I wouldnt do that no matter how much someone pi$$ed me off, its just disgusting.
But Im sure it happens. I feel more comfortable eating at places where you can actually see them preparing your food.

I know it's possible, but I like to try and think that most restaurant workers wouldn't be that nasty.

don't believe everything you see on TV. there could have been 1000 places they went to that were fine and a handful of restaurants that were not. no one thinks "normal" is interesting Chat Icon Everyone loves to shock their audience!

Me too..I worked in restaurants for years and never saw anything done to anyone's food. People send back things for many reasons. I send food back when it's not right most of the time. Sometimes I don't but it depends on how big of a deal it is.

I never did send back anything and neither does DH. We are too afraid them putting "stuff" in it.

My DH would NEVER send back food...he would rather suffer than say anything. I have sent back food only when it was cold, undercooked, the wrong order, or burnt to a crisp.

Re: Anyone ever send back their food at a restaurant?

I have a few food allergies and have to ask for some foods without certain sauces or foods. If they forgot and bring it to be as is, I send it back. I can't risk being sick.

I only sent something back once - actually it was recently at chili's because the chicken sandwich I got was completely black - the waitress was really nice she was like "hmm there is blackened - but that was completely charred and should not have left the kitchen"

I used to work in a few restaurants and I never saw anyone mess with food - but I heard plenty of stories
